Not intelligent if you didn't think Rob didn't win that fight? SMH Give me a break. I call that 48-47 just like the two other judges did and there is a case that the fight could be swayed in favor of Rob. If you watch that back, there's not much Izzy did convincingly. He got the 1st round and got off some leg kicks and takedown escapes throughout the rest of the fight but that's really about it. Rob from Round 2 onward set a better tone and pace than Izzy, stuck Izzy with good jabs and managed several takedowns that were meaningful when you consider the frequency he was doing them at, even though Izzy eventually popped up from all of them. It definitely wasn't dominance for Rob in the sense of the word, but he set the tone much more so than Izzy did. Rob understood he needed to be patient and choose his shots wisely in order to not get caught. That was wise. And there were a few times when he went for it with a KO type strike. I know judges need to see something more clear and dynamic to give it to the challenger, so I understand why Rob fell short. But to call that fight 49-46 in Izzy's favor or to say Izzy dominated 4-1 is a blind bias straight up. If you are objective with the fight, it's clear to see Rob was more effective in his efforts.
@Mr-E.2 жыл бұрын
Watching the Romero Izzy fight again, there is a case for Romero winning that one (in a very lackluster way). That whole "have to beat the champ" philosophy is nonsense and doesn't apply in any other sport. Imagine beating the sprinting champion by 1/10th of a second, but because they have to "beat the champ"... then that 1/10th of a second isn't good enough? Or imagine winning a basketball game 111 to 110, but it doesn't count because the team only won by 1 point.

@@Realhater1352 Twitter accounts? What the hell are you talking about? 😂 First of all, they’re all adults who signed contracts to get paid living out their “dreams”. That 80% you mentioned will all say that they rather fight than have a 9 to 5 job. Nobody forced them on that path. Secondly, the pay talk is all about UFC and not so much about MMA in general. This is a silly discussion especially when trying to compare them to 100+ year old sports. For example, the first boxing match at MSG was in 1925 whereas MMA’s first MSG event was just a couple years ago. So start your own promotion or you stfu!
