Color is in the eye of the beholder. Even the various manufacturers represent colors differently from one another. I never sweat the issue of "matching color.
@roncalverley11 сағат бұрын
I’ll keep that in mind. 👍

Hi Ron, belated congratulations on 6 years of doing this. I've not seen everything but have watched pretty much every day over the last 3 years as well as caught up on some of your early episodes. Great format, interesting, funny and a joy to watch. I happen to have the Enterprise (and Yamato) in 1/200. The instructions are already available on Scalemates so you may not want to spend the time photographing, sorting and uploading them. The copper wire does appear to be for the "degaussing wire". From what I've seen it's a bit crude however. I will probably buy an upgrade set for my build either KA or Pontos, though I know that's not your thing. Norweigen Modeler and Midwest Modeler have great builds available on KZbin, both are worth a watch. Enjoy and thanks for putting in all the time and effort to make such and entertaining and oft insightful series.

Hi Ron, looks like you will have your fill of decals for the Enterprise. A lot of them belong to the aircraft. Take care Ron, see you tomorrow😊

You're right, a lot of decals are for the aircraft. 👍

One step closer to the Enterprise Ron. Speaking of the Enterprise, the other night I was thinking about having a break from wooden ships and getting the Enterprise to build along with you. Then when you mentioned “make 47” in step two I’m having second thoughts.

Good episode, Ron. Looks like you have your work cut out for you, with all of those decals. I know that's the one part that I dread when I build aircraft carriers... so many decals! I'm sure that you will do a great job on it though! 👍🙂 See you next time.

I built the Enterprise a couple years ago, problem I had with the build was the tabs on the outer walls to lower deck, when fitting them after painting tabs wouldn't fit into slots due to paint buildup so for me lots of sanding and filing, tolerances are very tight just something to be aware of

Ron we set a new record high today of 59 degrees Fahrenheit. 😎 Unfortunately it looks like we may get some snow next Monday and Tuesday. We need the moisture but I’m definitely enjoying our mild winter so far.

It's called a degausing system for magnetic mines if i remember correctly from my time in the Navy

I did the USS KITTY HAWK in 1/350 the decals around the elevators I cut into 2 pieces, made it a lot easier

*"cut into 2 pieces"* Good idea! 👍

Those larger white squares, even the numbers, maybe big enough to make a template or some imaginative masking and paint them?

I think i would hold off on glueing the dive plane guards until after the planes are connected together!

It's a degaussing cable, to repel magnetic mines.

Yes! Thanks! 👍

The pipe is a degaussing cable it was used to defeat magnetic mines. Positively. If I remember correctly you built one tube with the door open. You wouldn't want the outer door open on that tube or your sub will flood and sink.

Good eye! You're right, it is a degaussing cable. 👍
@jefffranckowiak891113 сағат бұрын
The Wire is probably for the degaussin, anti magnetic system.

Hi Jeff, You're right! Somebody sent me an actual photograph showing it. That's what it is alright! I wonder how effective it was. It must have worked or they wouldn't bother doing it right. 👍

Hi Ron, have you thought about 3D printed guns for your build, lol it would eliminate Part 2 , I wouldn’t think twice about it, to fiddle for me to 😊! And they look great 👍! See you tomorrow
@aussiefrenchman-hobbytable996013 сағат бұрын
Yeah after a quick search lol I wouldn’t be able to afford them 😮
@marklivingstone371012 сағат бұрын
I’d also add the 3d printed stairs/ladders. I just wish micromaster would do a few more things for USN ships. Also checkout Yaos studio, their stuff is phenomenal and cheaper than micromaster.
@roncalverley12 сағат бұрын
Hi Marc, I'll think about it, but I think I'm going to stick to building the ship with the kit for now. 👍

Degaussing cable. I was on a destroyer during the Vietnam conflict and it ran right next to me when I was in my rack (bed).

Hi Gary, I guess your bunk was probably well demagnetized as well as anything else in your pocket such as coins or your watch. 😁
