Excellent documentation of my hometown of Washington Court House. In the video of the north bound DT&I train, sharp eyes might note the crewman riding in the second unit. This would have been the conductor, a long standing tradition on the DT&I. In steam days, a caboose would often be provided behind the locomotive for the conductor to keep him at the head end instead of riding on the rear end.

Great educational video on DT&I. WCH is one of my favorite RR towns. My understanding is that the B&O/Chessie used to have a locomotive stationed their, even into the 80s or 90s. Love all the photos and the Video. I have most that content, but nice to have it collected in one place. Thanks for sharing!

I can confirm the Chessie/CSX loco. I went there several times from the late 80s through the early 2000s to catch them. Now that I&O has their yard built, you can pretty easily find activity to watch around town!

@@ModernDTI when I railfaned WCH in 2004 had an enjoyable day. It was interesting to see them move some cars the opposite way around the wye before heading east to the business park. I believe the car doors only opened on one side due to loading. I guess it was the WCH-B job. I need to go back..
