The Modified Go Kart: The Next Phase

I'm using the old cage from the poor boy polaris, and doing some suspension and steering work on the modified go kart.
These videos are meant to give you ideas and inspiration to work on your own projects. This is my hobby and I am not a professional welder or fabricator. There are probably better parts and better ways of doing things, but I use the parts and tools that I have already or can get cheaply

Where did you get that steering rack and pinion? I just came across your channel this morning. So far you’ve said “stuff I’ve collected on job sites” and I see you had Unistrut on the cart before. Your shop, and the tools you use look a lot like the stuff I use in mine. Plus the way you go about doing things in general is familiar. You wouldn’t happen to be an electrician would you? 😂 because that’s what I do for a living, 26 years in the trade…

I bought the steering rack on Amazon and that go kart keeps getting pushed to the bottom of the list, but should be getting back on it soon. Yes I have been an Electrician for 20 years. If they throw it out, and I think I can possibly use it some day, I'm going to grab it.

@@kevinscreations4486 I do the same thing, I collect any and all pieces of steel from job sites. I scored big a couple years ago when I installed 3 big UPS systems in a data center. The crating they came in on was all 1/4” and 3/16” inch wall C channel. It’s all laser cut and gusseted too. And it’s in the raw, no coatings at all. Been using it for all kinds of stuff on projects. I don’t throw anything away. Because I noticed if I keep stuff for years, the minute I got rid of it I needed it! Anyway, I like your work and your projects. Keep up the good work!
