By the way Bruno Putzeys also designed the Kii three active studio monitors which has the same dacs inside the speakers. Each driver has its own independent DAC (6 total per speaker). In theory you could save money and just get the Kii Three monitors and you’d have the amp/DAC/speakers all in one package. Pair that with a top level source like the Grimm Audio MU1 and you’d be set.

It’s a great DAC indeed, detail and 3D soundstage are excellent. I prefer the Holo May and Lampizator because I need warmth and organic sound. Highly system dependent though.

For me a big plus is also the non existent various settings. No different filters, no separate DSD and PCM circuits, no HQPlayer benefits. Plug it in and enjoy. They got it right years ago!

Hi thanks, I also like Mola Mola, but too expensive in his range. Used Holo KTE you get for €5k and used Mola not under €7k. Also wouldnt compare Mola with Holo, because we are talking about €5k difference (retail new) 😉 Try a Grimm Audio MU2 and done 😉 I usd Holo May KTE in my full tube amp chain and it sounds great (uncolored and dont need hqplayer). In my solid state chain and low efficiency speaker I used Grimm MU2 and it is an killer (replaced my Weiss 501 mkII and Antipodes).

@ericelmore887 Hi Eric, the Weiss with the upgraded AKM ( called mkII/4 channel) was even more brutal detailed and I call it over-accurate and was for me stressfull to listen several hours. For certain genres, like electro or Pop, perfect, but for classic and jazz too much. Now the Grimm MU2 is for me the current, perfect balanced in between *accurate/analytic*, but also as some typical R2R and tube-based output stages oneces (therefore love Holo Audio or Abbas Audio), very musical and you can listen the whole day long! I AM NOT an professional reviewer, nor testing every month new DACs, but had the key contenders the last couple years in my house and owned several ones. Not saying aI've the answer 😉

Great review!! Very true I have a bartok apex with headphone amp I like the bartock better than the Rocini with clock and other than the headphone amp built in the mola is better than the bartock Not night and day but definitely better
