1. On the jailbreak episode both Joi and Samara didn't see the key, so you could tell that it wasn't really easy to spot, 2. on the password episode, I think that Sandy panicked and messed up haha, 3. Greg not knowing how to swim made no sense but I think that he lied because he's pretentious af, 4. Joi having no idea of navigation but pretending to have, not wanting to go into the plane while being a pilot and biding 25k make me really really dislike her though I'm not sure if she's the mole, 5. about Sandy's personality, she was annoying and kind of mean for not wanting Dom back but totally not the mole, just a bad player ps. You mispronouncing Pranav's name should be a drinking game hahah

I'm an OG Mole fan from the Anderson Cooper days, and in the last few years I've been watching the Dutch version with English subtitles to get my Mole fix. So excited for this new US version, and glad you are covering it. I haven't watched this entire recap yet, but after watching the first 5 episodes on Netflix, my vote is Kesi is the mole.

@@OryStreams I agree. I am loving the Netflix version. The folks in the Netherlands do a great job with their version and it is one of the most popular shows over there, so the production value is great. I was very happy to see the Netflix version borrowed a lot of elements from the Dutch show (prison escape, train challenge, bidding on an exemption, to name a few). The new season of Wie is de Mol (WIDM) comes out every January. There's a great KZbin channel with archived episodes with English subtitles that also releases the new episodes the day after they air in the Netherlands. Definitely something to look forward to once the Netflix series ends.

I'm obsessed with the show! Thank you for the recap. My money is on Kesi. For sure. The bank heist for me was a big tell, she didn't even try. Doesn't fit her attitude in other missions. But the biggest tell for me was with the meal. She didn't even try to convince the rest her food was tasty. I think she made her eyes kind of watery on purpose (I don't know if that's a general thing people can do, but I can so I'm assuming she can too). And the way she dropped the bag while in the train, sure that could've been an honest mistake but if you add it to the rest, it's clear to me. Jacob would be my second guess, but still far behind Kesi.

This is where I think this SHOW is unreasonable. Is there a limitation that the mole has to move, because if the mole doesn't move, then what's the point of being a mole? If normal players are pretending to be moles in order to mislead others, and that actually reduces the payout, then the contrast is true A mole that doesn't act, who is a mole?

It's Casey! One her job title is "Covid Nurse" ...? Should it say more registered nurse, LPN or respiratory therapist or something? Then they rarely get her take on things during confessionals. She is usually on the losing team. When trying to get back Dom it was a no from her which loses money. When in the room for exemption or be still she was for losing money and exemption. When doing the water team she was the one diving etc. , which they loss as well. It's her if I'm wrong I can't call it lol.

I’m really suspicious of *Joi* because of how much she sacrificed out the pot. *Jacob* because I think maybe he was sabotaging the cash counting & *Casey* because she’s done a little too well 😑 at flying under the radar & avoiding suspicion being thrown on her😂

I think Greg and Joi are the obvious red-herrings at this point. I’m most sus of Jacob and Casey, but Kesi is close behind. And honestly I really like Pranav and William but I don’t have really good reads on either of them so I wouldn’t be too shocked if either of them were the mole and just playing it more chill for the first half while the group seemed to sabotage themselves

At the bank Pranav's team counted 678,50 dollars more than the goal. These 50 cents were particularly interesting, because banks usually don't work with coins. I was wondering if it was a currency problem, aka Pranav's mistake (on purpose) Besides he could have oriented his team to count 10k USD starting with currencies, which are almost so strong as US dollars. In this case they would have saved some time. On the other hand Pranav is usually useful. I don't know, but it would be nice if the mole is him

Yeah that was for sure part of the currency conversion going wrong. But that could also be a counting error. If they told him the wrong amount his conversion would be off. But either way Pranav is 1 of my favorites on the show if hes the mole or not 😅

I would have looked at the dossiers, if I didn't then my bid would have been around $5k, i wouldn't bring a player back and I definitely would have pushed the button, and probably would have taken the exemption because as much as Joi sucks at literally every challenge, then it looks way less sus to constantly be trying to be exempt from the quiz.

Seeing the fifth episode now, I think the game has a major flaw. The official has designed a mole in the team. The purpose of the mole is to reduce the bonus. However, is there a rule that the mole must do something to reduce the bonus? Because the current development is that players start to mislead others. Pretending to be a mole, this more or less caused the team to suffer a certain loss, ranging from an oxygen cylinder to $25,000. JOI was the one who made the team suffer the most, that is, he exchanged immunity for 25,000$, while GREG and AFORI made the team lose the oxygen tank, and GREG directly made it too late for the team to get the next box. But we need to know that both oxygen tanks are nowhere near $25,000, yet there will only be one mole on the team. We can be GREG as the mole, then JOI is the one pretending to be the mole, yet JOI lost $25,000 more than what GREG did, so what's the point of GREG being the mole? If anyone else today Let the team suffer greater losses, such as the 30,000$ in the notice, and this person is not an officially defined mole, so what is the meaning of a real mole? A real mole can use ordinary players to mislead others. what is the point of being an official mole, and keeping himself completely hidden, not contributing to the bonus, and not disturbing the player to reduce the bonus? Also, if all players have a policy of misleading others, no one Focusing on boosting the bonus, everyone pretends to be a mole and keeps hurting the team, so what's the point of this show? I think JOI is the mole. But if JOI is not a mole, then every player does not aim to increase the bonus like JOI, and the mole completely hides himself, and even the mole helps to increase the bonus (there are so many people who want to pretend to be a mole anyway), then What's the point of the player? Thats the crazy layers that go into it. So 1st the Mole is not required to cost money but the goal is to cost as much as they can. The reason there even is a mole needed is for the quiz. You need something to be right and wrong objectively to eliminate people. But then thats also why people are pretending to be the mole. If they get others to think its them they might be able to get rid of them through the quiz. That said Joi is playing weird if shes the mole its super obvious if shes not shes playing to get to the end but to win almost no money? I imagine she thinks the last few missions will be worth a lot anyway so money now is like an investment in herself getting further but its a bold strategy

Will is def the mole, the first secret mission was sus and a ploy to get social proof by the group. should be no coincidence that people who trust him most and suspect him the least have all gone home. my most safe pick in the game is Avori, shes the one true strategic thinker in the game, just hope she figures it all out soon enough

Avori is making it to obvious that she isnt the mole by blatantly sabotaging the team and want the suspicion on her. Sandy was also one of my top suspects but not my #1 when she got eliminated it kinda gave it away in my opinion. As for your questions 1) No, I wouldnt have looked at the dossier especially when they are showing proof of everything and not saying someone did or didnt look at it. I would have made a bit for 2,500 if anything nothing to extreme to get a reaction out of the group (like Dom's reaction, which was priceless) 2. Yes without a doubt bring a player back, 10k is an easy 10k in the pot. We dont know what they said in their quiz, they may be misrembering something and they may have tied the quiz. They dont get the results, they dont know what they got right or wrong. Even if your spread out your answers you may have been worse by 1 and that question could have been who is the mole. 3. No push to start, if the other team is then 100% go for it, but it was still to early to go after exemptions. 4. Add money to the pot, especially if I took out 25k earlier, you need to do something to prove your loyalty even if you are the mole. When i did the quiz, I followed 1 person and I got safe so im pretty sure im on the right track to the mole. Also with clues being in the episodes to hint as to who the mole is im rewatching certain things to see if I can spot anything

I would have been very aware that the bidding was a prime mole opportunity, and IF i had the guts (not sure i would have, truth be told) i would have bid everything in the pot to keep the mole from having that power, then i would have put my vote on Dom assuming he didn't look at the dossiers, to keep the money safe.
