I make sure i charge all my million batteries on a Thursday, pack my bag Friday night ready for my adventures on a weekend but i usually forget my clip on mic…so now i make sure i trip over it prior to me leaving the house…!! Most of the time i forget my flask too…!!!

I got your recent newsletter, lamented the short notice on the workshop - I'm in the US - and then had an attack of common sense as I remembered my 65 year old knees cannot handle mountain-goating all over challenging terrain the way you do. Wishing you a sold out attendance and all success.

Hey Henry.. I feel for ya Mate. I went to a Cowboy Rodeo Event here in th estates and had my Camera and Batteries.. but grabbed my backup Canon R6II and discovered the batteries were not Charged. I said no worries I have extra batteries but then discovered they were Dead. I was only able to photograph 1/3 the event. and I was done. As I left my Charger at home UGGGGH. I later bought spare charger to keep in bag.

Weve all been there Henry, trecked up top of a hiil, got all set up and composed a shot on tripod, and then camera says "memory card full" . You got some belters with the mobile and drone so all was not lost Looked a cracking days hike, thanks for sharing yet again.

Top drawer hike Henry mate. Thoroughly enjoyed watching the ascent and it's stunning panoramic views. Would love to have half your energy to tackle some of the Lake District peaks. Ps Did you ever stop and wonder how long it must have taken them to build all those miles upon miles of dry stone walls. Look forward to more videos like this one and get a pack list made so you can tick off everything required for your trip so you don't forget things like batteries. 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿🥃

Fun adventure! I have 4 camera batteries in 2 battery holders! I always leave a pair of batteries in my bag while charging the other 2. This way I never leave home without them!!!!! Thanks for taking me along!

My approach to avoid forgetting things has been, "a place for everything and everything in its place." Otherwise I forget stuff. When gear has a "home" in a bag, case, whatever, all I have to do is grab that bag, case, etc. Yes, by not "customizing" how I pack for every outing, I might not always have the absolute minimum weight but I rarely forget stuff. Oh man, that's the kiss of death now ("I rarely forget stuff")... 🙄

Hi Henry, another grand day out and a good catch even though you were short of an en-el15. If I can share a trick I learnt ... take one photo before you set off, as it checks you've got not only the battery in the camera, an SD card, a lens, but also the camera ! .. not that i'd ever forget anything obvious, yeah right! Don't feel like slowing down, age will do that for you eventually, so sieze the day while you can! Thanks for sharing once again ... and all the best with the sessions in Wales

Hi Henry, always great to see your videos. Have you tried the Leica Lux app for your phone, fun to play around with even the free version. Would like to get to the Lake District someday. But being 71 now I don’t think I will make it. So I will go along with you. When I was in the Army I did go to London and Ely, my uncle was stationed at Mendenhall AFB in the early 70’s. Always fun to watch your videos, not always sure if they are hiking videos or photography videos 😀, but you do show some great photographs. It’s nice that it isn’t just like all the others. Sometimes if I only have my phone, I use the Lightroom app camera so that I can edit the photos afterwards (I don’t really enjoy doing that on the phone). Looking forward to the next!

Henry, I enjoy your videos, the locations, and your willingness to share your experiences and insights. It may be time to add some sort of “To Do” list to your phone so you can have a checklist if for no other reason than to double check before you head out. I find these quite useful because we are all going in too many directions these days.

It's called ADHD. I have it. I can't sit still. The pro for me is that I am always on time to places and no one ever has to wait for me. The con to is that I at times am in too much of a hurry and forget things or miss steps to things. Memory cards, batteries, etc, I have forgotten.

Just out of interest, when using your iPhone do you just use the standard camera or is there a manual mode? I use Samsung which has a pro mode where you can shoot in RAW though I've never tried to really edit a photo, just wondering if use similar? Great vid as always, love the energy, just wish I had the fitness to get anywhere near the top of a fell like that.

My camera ALWAYS has a fully charged battery in it when it's idle. If you don't have enough batteries to insure that then get another spare and keep it fully charged on your desk, so you can put that into the camera as soon as you get home. Note I also have a spare charger so I can charge 2 batteries at a time. I will also say that you do hurry way too much. Every time I watch one of your videos I see you walk by wonderful scenic views without stopping to snap a picture or thirty. Life is too valuable to not take the time to stop and smell the roses.

Can relate to your situation today Henry but as you demonstrated theres still an opportunity to adapt and overcome. I suppose having a lesser burden in terms of the photography it hopefully gave you a release to enjoy the hike
