OMG! 🤣🤣🤣 I literally just got off the phone with my therapist, and a lot of it is about my constant state of overwhelm now as my 87 year old father's caregiver, but as my therapist pointed out my role has changed from a semi-dependent, adult child to a caregiver and now *WE ARE A TEAM!* In a lot of ways this is a huge privilege, because my sister and my dad aren't buddies like Dad and I are. It's like I'm learning to accept and embrace my role as my father's caregiver, and leave behind my old feelings of lifelong jealousy over my late mother's bond with my sister. *I love that you show your brother shaking his head and looking terrified!* 😅

As a teenager I thought my dad was so lame. I’m 37 now and I recognize it would be an honor to be compared to my dad. He’s 72 spent the last two summers remodeling two of my siblings homes, then my sister decided she wanted to build a home so he volunteered to do that also. All the while tending and harvesting his gigantic garden, harvesting a massive orchard, making tons of homemade syrups, apple sauces, jams, cider, etc. then just giving it away to us kids and his neighbors. Still finding time to build two beautiful custom doll cradles for some less well off families at church for Christmas. All the while plowing most of his neighbors driveways after a snowstorm! I hope I’m physically capable of being my dad when I get to 72, and selfless enough to make those sacrifices. What a freakin cool guy! Not to mention all the exceptional dad jokes!
