@sentonbeeblo1702 ай бұрын
That molly change was so boneheaded by valve. The maps aren't designed for it, and with the way peekers advantage is, its actually optimal to go for the swing through the molly and tank the damage, especially since the CTs won't expect it. The obvious thing that they DEFINITELY should have done was make either broom or logs a bit wider, so one molly couldn't get both. Problem solved.

iM in that MIBR game was actually good, they were down 9-3 and iM started the T side with a pistol ace and had many deciding gun rounds. only at the end did he fuck up
@Reaching82 ай бұрын
It's really good to see Thorin continuing to push the CT vs T sidedness angle, for some reason it seems that a lot of people(I'd assume newer fans, or people who picked up CS during GO or later) don't know any different, but CS should be Ts taking shots, and CTs as the keeper. I went on a podcast with Voo and Austin early this year(you can find it in a playlist on my channel) where we talk about this extremely in-depth, and even discuss weapon buffs. On CT side, the M4s should be combined. You can use whichever viewmodel you want, but it should have the characteristics of the M4A1(removable silencer, maybe slightly increased spray from A1s but not as severe as A4) with 25-30 bullets in a magazine, and lower damage falloff of the A4. This is how CS was pre-GO anyway, and if the CTs are going to get punished so severely on the economy, they should actually pay for guns with good characteristics that are significantly different/have edges that the Ts don't have(though they shouldn't be able to buy an AK equivalent or anything). Adjusting the FAMAS to have a better burst would also be an incredibly good option. On the NA part, it's just a money thing. There's so much economic stress on people in North America(specifically the US and Canada) and there's no adjacent region which these players can connect to(IE Switzerland is more expensive than other European countries, but they can connect to more active CS scenes in other countries and get noticed). For an okay-ish NA player, you can hire a better player from another region. It's just not worth anything to be pro, or even grind CS for a lot of Americans/Canadians, which leads to the decay of the scene. The game also isn't 'fun to play' like CS used to be. Most games happen on Matchmaking, not on player servers, so there's not even an organic base like there once was from which to introduce people to competitive after getting their skills up. It's partly a Valve/game design issue, but for NA to be more competitive(not to say we don't have good players, just to up our status on the world stage), the governments of Canada and the USA need to change a lot.

1:52:00 I agree with bleh here. Making famas burst the optimal way to play again would be really cool, and add a different dynamic to CT side force rounds, where you're actually playing with a gun that feels unique to use. Famas on burst has the highest first shot accuracy in the game too, which is stronger for holding angles and long range fights and might switch things up more.

At 6:40, I don’t really make CS content and not an analyst or anything like that, but I legit predicted G2 to likely to lose to Mongolz. It’s the reason why I didn’t pick G2 as a 3:0 team, it absolutely felt like G2 can start slow and lose exactly one match to a faster paced explosive team like Mongolz. Overall correctly predicted 6/8 team to advance in Opening stage (but mixed up 2 spots, so no Diamond for me), and 7/8 in Elimination stage. Not too shabby.

That whole comeback on the T-side just for a mf to go for an ego kill instead of letting Aleksib take contact first since they knew he was on site. To be fair though JL could have done literally anything that game so it ain't all on him, but arguably the most crucial round certainly was. That game destroyed their mental for sure

It’s so unfair to say that NA has zero budding talent. Although JBa didn’t come in and dominate in his first major, you have to consider where he came from. JBa was playing Advanced a year ago and now 1 year later finds himself holding his own against EU teams in the freaking major!!! He single handedly carried Wildcard to a comeback victory against Fnatic in the opening game (granted Fnatic isn’t good but if not for JBa they’d have won) He also was the reason they went neck and neck with Furia. JBa needs some time in Tier 1 to gather experience and reps. He’s good. The most obvious budding talent though, is on M80! Reck is a great supportive player that can more than hold his own in Tier 1. Lake is the next NA superstar, Guy is an absolute carry!! Hopefully M80 improve their roster and start finding their footing internationally because Reck & Lake are deserving of all the reps and games overseas that they can get!

1:08:00 people complain about how NA feels its self-importance is greater than the reality, but it’s for good reason. Ultimately, financially NA is the most important region as Thorin has mentioned in the past, both for ad revenue and sponsorships. More generally, the Anglosphere is the linguistic region with the most disposable income by far, and NA is the largest population and economic base of that. So from the financial side of esports, having an NA fan base or being able to market oneself as an American team is more important than anything else. Even more than winning potentially, unless winning can lead to a bigger fan base or marketing leverage than simply being a middling NA team would be. I say this as someone who’s not from NA, but has always looked to them as an adoptive region to support as a fellow member of the Anglosphere.
