They had some fantastic songs. Of course there are the hits and favourites, but I've just discovered gems like Shades of Grey, What am I Doing Hanging Round, You Bring the Summer and a beautiful Christmas ballad Riu Chiu. Davy was my crush, my younger sister's was Micky....he really did have a wonderful voice. The harmonies were superb.

We managed to kiss their cheeks and scream in their ears until we were booted off by a fat security guard. They were both so gracious and kind to two out of control screaming teenagers. Still one of the greatest experiences of my life! Lol

I, too, saw their 1986 anniversary concert when they were in Philly. They were as "spot on" both vocally and musically as they were back in the 1960's, and that show was amazing. It was quite a nostalgic, wonderful moment for me, as I had always wanted to see them live. Even though I was crazy about them back in the 60's, and wanted desperately to go to their concert when they played at the old Civic Center in Philly back then, my parents said I was too young (I was 10), but my cousin (who was 11) got to go, and I was heartbroken. Hope you saved that huge colored program from that '86 concert, because it may be worth something someday.

This whole label of "the pre-Fab Four" is obviously wrong! Like Bob Dylan, they were heavily into putting together bands and performing even as kids, and all were seasoned actors/musicians brought together by a single magnet (TV STARDOM!!). But then they had a slew of hits, and no one stood behind them working them like ventriloquist's dummies. They did it themselves. Not bad for a band that was "thrown together".
