To run 268 miles on minimum sleep and get up a 48 min video of the journey is incredible. Amazing the difference in your mood from very early on to the end, and like you said partnering up at the end was a very smart move, each encouraging each other and knowing someone is there, as I can imagine these events must feel very isolating. Superb watch and great effort, loved dotwatching it and seeing you get closer and closer to the border and home. 💪

Humbling to see this film about your adventure Ross.. encapsulated everything about the spine race, and the spirit needed to even stand at the start line. One of the main things anyone who sees the film can take away from it is that all through your experience you maintained the attitude that you where prepared to meet and deal with anything the race threw at you in a positive way, always keeping the one thought in your mind that you where determined to get to the finish line come what may..this is an inspiring message to anyone wanting to try and do longer distance challenges because without this determination everything else unravels.. good luck with whatever you do next.. you've shown everyone who comes across you that with the right attitude, and a lovely supportive family behind you.. anything is possible.. and that if you knock hard enough on the door marked summer in your mind.. it will burst wide open..👏👏💙

Been waiting for this to be uploaded. Incredible achievement Ross given the conditions. You must be so pleased? Would love you to do a follow up video of what you would do differently and kit used. Signing up for the sprint on the 1st on the back of your videos

Wow, this content was amazing, thank you for taking your time to film whilst running. It was so good to get a step by step guide of the spine! You looked amazing throughout, even when you were struggling. I was avidly dot watching and willing you to Kirk Yetholm! So happy for you that you conquered it! Well done Ross, what a legend!!

Well done on ticking this big race off Ross. Lovely to see that you and Kerry had teamed up when you came into Byrness. The inside shots of the little church were lovely to see! Talk about spicy weather on this event - you had everything thrown at you. Huge congratulations and hope to see you at the Cowshed Backyard Ultra in April.

Brilliant effort to complete the Winter Spine but to record it too💪 I watched the leaders across Bleaklow & then dot watched to the finish. So many question's but how much running compared to walking & how much time moving/stationary? It would be great to see a kit video what worked what didn't/what you'd do differently? Massive congratulations on finishing👍👍

thanks Ross, from you video I got a glimpse of the natural beauty of this years spine (only because there are limits to photography! and you have to be there - but you nailed it with great shots) with none of the pain and discomfort. which i reckon is a darn good deal from 48 mins of my time.

Awesome job mate, that climb out of Dufton to Cross fell is the worst, it’s just never ending, I do it frequently as part of my training route but without the 168 mile before it, I normally start at Dufton 😂. I’ve got my third 200 next week, should be a walk in the park compared to that so thanks for the inspiration, loved the video!

Ross, what an incredible achievement. 1. Doing the damn thing. And 2. Recording and editing this video. Epic! I’ve just interviewed another Spine finisher on my channel (Adrian, he finished the same day as you) - so thank you for bringing this all to life!

Congratulations! What an achievement. I enjoyed the footage immensely. The descent from Auchope Cairn was pretty terrifying. BTW it’s Belling-jam. I stayed at the checkpoint at a summer international camp when it was boarding school in 1966! Thanks again.
Such a brilliant achievement Ross and an epic video as well. Have a look at the Montcalm pica pica race, it’s in France and is a pure mountain race in the Pyrenees, it’s only a 100km, but consider the hardest on earth.

Epic achievement, congratulations. Not least in having the spare mental and battery carrying capacity to film your race. I’d be interested to see a review on kit and strategy; what worked for you, what you would change if you did it all over again etc.
@runnerrossco24835 ай бұрын
Cheers. I did take a couple of short videos on kit but thought they were a bit shit so haven’t published. Might still sometime soon though.
