Howdy. Today we will look at over 160 highly detailed images of Strasbourg, France from collections and museums all around the world. These photographs are dated from 1848 through 1928. In this short period the city faced numerous facelifts, but the core was said to have remained relatively the same since Roman Times.
However, that idea seems to conflict with The Siege of Strasbourg which occurred in 1870, and the photographs of the architecture afterwards is very telling.
We will look at the oldest photographs of Strasbourg, from before, during, and after the major conflict of 1870. What you will notice is an outstanding uniformity to the architecture, as well as countless red bricks. Enjoy, and leave your thoughts and ideas down below!
