Bro you’re not putting content on the channel much, idk what you were expecting. Put out more heat and more people will watch. Videos on some random manga getting half a million views? Ehh maybe not, but people will still come around. There’s gonna be a lot of big anime coming out starting next month, if you prioritize your livelihood here you can start writing scripts for KNY season 2, Jojos Part 6, AoT etc

"There is no such thing as a painless lesson." Is something my grandpa would always tell me when I would be helping him out with projects growing up. This was a big reason I fell in love with this series when I first heard this quote!

Hey man! Thanks for having me on :) It was really cool to see you cover this again, and I'm super happy I was able to be a part of it! It's absolutely bonkers how far you've come since that collab 4 years ago, but somehow not all that surprising, considering the level of love and care you consistently put into your content. Bless ya, buddy. I'm incredibly pumped for those big boy videos you mentioned at the end ^_^

@IntrovertedAnalogue3 жыл бұрын
Something I've always appreciated about FMA is how our lead characters don't always go into issues as though they're battles. Sometimes, the strongest fights are with what we think is right and wrong. Sometimes there's no winner.
@dragon678493 жыл бұрын
Huh, that was my main takeaway too ^^

The way that the two big world building changes in 2003 (homunculi originating from human transmutation and alchemy being fueled by human death) recontextualize not just Ed but also many others within its cast is incredible to me. Such bizarre, interesting, and unique changes that make me love 2003 so much.

I'll say from my perspective, the reason I haven't watched the previous videos are because they are things that I want to experience in my own capacity. Speaking on Chainsaw man and Attack on Titan specifically. I love the work you do, but sometimes its hard to come back to content because its directed towards what is popular in the now (previous two examples) vs FMA which has been out awhile. Keep up the good work as always!
@HidinginPublic3 жыл бұрын
Oh definitely. It doesn't help that many of my recent videos have been very spoilery, and I hold nothing against anyone who doesn't hold interest or click on it. I've explained in a couple other comments, but the reason the videos haven't been preforming is largely due to a way the algorithm works, and high engagement is about the only way to make youtube give the videos a second look. It's not any one person's fault. I'll try to make some more general videos like seasonal stuff soon, I've just been really trying to get this background project into production the last few months and it's a lot of work on my plate. I don't have an editor or anything so it's all me

The comment "there's no such thing as a painless lesson" is probably the part of the story's philosophy that's stuck with me the most over the years. It's so important to learn but so hard to force yourself into that mindset of taking truly painful mistakes and learning from them instead of running from them.

What I love about the characters of FMA is that many of them remain pretty static throughout the series. Ed went through most of his character development as a kid when he did human transmutation. After that, he just became a citizen of his country with his own goals and opinions that were were formed by his past experiences. I think Ed definitely learns more stuff about the world throughout the story but I don’t think his personality or fundamental ideologies change very much. I love that about him because he feels like a real person. He’s just a dude living in the world who is working toward a common goal. Dynamic characters with very dramatic arcs are usually the ones who get praised the most, but I feel like great static characters go under appreciated. It’s not like Ed doesn’t add depth to the story just because he doesn’t change. All of his interactions with other people in the story hold meaning. Ed’s own ideologies become intertwined with those of anyone he works with, fights against, or causes to change. The role he and his morality play in the narrative is essential to the story of FMA.

Just done rewatching the whole anime, I really felt something different about the protagonist this time. I used to think he started as an idiot, then an edgy teen and finally becoming a shonen protagonist spouting nonsense about family and friends. This time though, I saw that he was a more round character than I was giving him the credit of. And as always, you hit the nail on the head with your analysis. Keep up the good work !

I wish you luck with the series you plan on doing and hope to see them when they come out! It's been a while since I read the manga, but I will agree Ed's morality is a great topic to cover and his growth throughout the series is a great one to witness. I don't have much else to add or talk about really, but the quote Ed has that you mentioned is such a powerful one. Hope you continue to do well, and good luck with any other endeavors! As someone who doesn't care for morals and morality, I always saw to King Bradley's views in contrasting to Edward , and really liked their early father/son relationship cause of it. To me Bradley having lived through war and all he's just accepted things being as they are and tries maintaining stability so things don't or can't change, while Ed grows to question and ultimately go against truth or idea that things are simply as they are and can't be changed.
