I know the dialogue in audios doesn't gel in every way with every listener, so I just try to tell a story in a way that most people will feel pretty good about. The listener is a character in the story as much as I am, and for this story, the listener is ok with being exclusive, so that's how it's written. A lot of assumptions are made in the course of writing these stories, every single time. There's really no other way to do it.
