Skipjack and White Bass bite is slooooow in all the Tennessee River impoundments the last week…worked over FOUR dam tailwaters this weekend for a half-dozen skips. Frozen bait until the bite improves, I reckon.

That 8lb fouro is tougher than you think. I mostly walleye fish and use 8lb on my drop shot rigs. Have caught them all the way up to 30 inches on that setup and never broke one off unless i just dont retie for a long time.

I love early morning and late afternoon and dusk dark night when I get most of the big bites the only thing I can figure is boat traffic. Really quiet.

Great video . Last weekend on watts bar I took the kids out for a few hours and we caught 32 white bass on small minnows and a split shot rig. It's not skip jack but it worked as bait

Cool. I've used popping corks for salt water, but never tried a popping cork for early morning bait. Great idea, they cast good too. Catching baits this time of year is absolutely key. Thanks Dave!

You should try tungsten jigs and other ice lures. They’re super small and catch a lot of baitfish

Running a short leader from bottom of rig with a sliding 3/4 ounce weight then another swivel with one foot leader below that with a foley spoon on bottom makes that rig really work well
