I saw a video of VDM asking people to stop protesting because of this act. Tinubu should have first reached out to his primary constituent, the National Assembly, since Nigeria is in a Democratic dispensation, and not to the Military chiefs first - for underage minors waving the flag of another Nation during a Nationwide protest. Albeit, more of concern should have been the current hoisting & administration of almost 20LGAs in Borno, having surrendered to & currently under Bokoharam governance. The poverty rate in the North is alarming, a result of serial bad governance by Northern leaders, The young children are not educated, impoverished & extremely hungry; hence not unexpected. These are very clear indications, that things are definitely not right in Nigeria. The primary root of the protest should been the focus to be addressed, with clear Time-bound action plans, rather than violent military approach. Military intervention is needed only when there's military threat, not civic unrest! After all, the protesters are not seen to be carrying guns & arms; and military firing squad, globally,has not been known as the punishment for "protesting and looting"!
