He probably still does, but back then, he used to mention IU every time he was asked about his ideal type/celebrity he wanted to be close with. It's honestly the cutest thing ever. He also mentioned some of her dramas on Run BTS pretty recently. IU also covered Life Goes On a year ago too, and collaborated with Suga to make Eight. She's REALLY famous in Korea, and I don't know why, but many Korean men are obsessed with her. I mean, she's gorgeous, but I think she fits the beauty standards there very well.

6:40 "oppa" is the term girls use when addressing an older male friend or older brother (like "hyung" with boys). Kookie didn't like it there because the woman calling him oppa was older (so he was not "oppa" to her). I think the "daddy" concept of it comes more to foreigners calling korean males "oppa" without really knowing them (nor their age). Disrespectful in my opinion.

“Oppa” is sometimes used is a sexy or romantic way by Koreans too. For example in the Gangnam Style song when he talks about sexy women calling him “Oppa Gangnam Syle” Or even in the BTS song “Boy in luv” the intro is them saying to a girl they like “I want to be your oppa, I'm so hungry for your love”

@@Jerryissocute no you're completely wrong. hyung is used only by males to address males older than them. but it's only used when you're friends/close. oppa is used by females to address males older than them and close to them. oppa/hyung/unnie/nuna aren't sexual terms, neither are they used only for brother/sister. no female uses or should use hyung for an older male

Oppa is a pretty normal term. Jungkook as a man calls the older guys "hyung" . If Jungkook was a woman, he'd call the older guys "oppa". Women can also call their boyfriends oppa and yes, it can at times be used as “daddy” I guess depending on the context, but it is primarily just an equivalent of “hyung” for female usage. Oppa is the female to male equivalent to Hyung (which is male to male and you hear BTS using a lot) It is used for males who are older than you and you have a close relationship with such as a brother, close friend or boyfriend. The only reason JK didn't like it is it was people who were older than him calling him Oppa so he really was not their Oppa. If there is a person younger than him and close to him it is not a problem. This is why it was a big deal when BTS said Hitman Bang told them to call him Hyung. This means they are in a close relationship which is not usual between the founder of the company and his employees. The same goes for Oppa it is not something you just call anyone.
