Rudraksh Tiwari Nope. I don’t think so. Because I used to live in an isolated tribe in Indonesia. I think I got a pretty good idea about it without going to Afghanistan. To be fair, I never know what Afghanistan gone through. After reading your reply it makes a lot of sense to me why you’re referencing it. But my point still stands, I never knew the existence of Jakarta people with skyscrapers and cars before I went there, let alone other more developed countries beyond my village. And they (Jakartans) never bother us, because we have no instant way to communicate with each other unless there’s a necessity from one of the party. What I mean is. No matter the scale of power consumption, more advanced civilization type wont bother with lesser type civilization unless there’s something that the more advanced type civilization wants from it. It’s rare for the lesser type of civilization have something an advanced type of civilization needs. Unless they live near a black hole or something.

1) A Dyson Sphere, as Dyson imagined it, is _not_ a hollow sphere around a star. It's a swarm of solar satellites. The hollow sphere is a purely Sci Fi invention which is why Dyson re-named it to a Dyson swarm. 2) It's theoretically simple to move a star, it may take a long time, but it's not a complicated process. It's called a Shkadov thruster. 3) People take that Kardashev Scale far too literally. The levels are equivalencies, not necessarily literalities. In other words if you can invent a power source that provides the total output of a Star, you don't need to Dyson swarm the star.

The Kardashev scale is often used to classify the technological advancement of civilizations based on their energy consumption. It includes three types: Type I Civilization: A civilization capable of harnessing and utilizing all the energy available on its home planet. This civilization can control the energy equivalent to that of their entire planet. Type II Civilization: A civilization capable of harnessing and utilizing the energy of its host star. This could involve constructing megastructures like Dyson spheres or using other advanced energy-capturing methods. Type III Civilization: A civilization capable of harnessing and utilizing the energy of an entire galaxy. This civilization would have mastered advanced technologies on a galactic scale. According to this classification, humanity is currently considered a Type 0 civilization, as we have not yet achieved mastery over the resources of our entire planet. Speculating about more advanced civilizations, Type II and Type III civilizations would be capable of feats beyond our current comprehension. They could possess advanced technologies, interstellar travel capabilities, and potentially even communication methods that we are currently unable to fathom.

To me the idea of Dyson spheres is like ancient people saying, 'one day we'll be advanced enough to build a bridge over the ocean and walk across to other continents without getting wet.' I mean, there's better ways to achieve the same things. Ancient people lacked the context to imagine something like a 747. But there do seem to be certain unchanging principles. Energy systems are better if they're more concentrated. We want to be able to put stars in our pockets, not cover them in iron. I mean maybe pulsars and brown dwarves, but I doubt even that. But, we'll see in about twenty or so incarnations.

I think a civilisation that controls thousands of galaxies’ only remaining goal would be to discover why our universe exists & possibly to ascend beyond this universe to see what’s out there if that’s a possibility. From our current knowledge of the universe it seems like at that point all that’s left is fighting over resources & eventually causing their own extinction. Unless there are some other amazing questions on that scale or further that we’re just too primitive to know about yet 🤭
@enderkool2 жыл бұрын
the interesting thing is that we really have no clue how a civilization that advanced would behave, we often assume aliens have similar traits as us, like the urge to explore the universe, find the 'reason for life', fight for power, etc. it's a very human thing to assume aliens act the same as we lol. that's why i think it would be incredibly unique to see how another civilization would act and evolve. and one constant that we might see while encountering alien life is the urge to survive- it is encoded into our DNA, and if other alien species were to naturally evolve as we have, it would make sense for the fittest race to win. and you've got to wonder; would there end up being similar instincts as to us?
@Jem_Apple2 жыл бұрын
@@enderkool Well any sapient aliens would be similar to us in many base ways. To conquer galaxies you would require extraordinary long term planning skills, a never ending need/desire for growth/expansion. Amazing coordination. If there are hundreds of competing species then they would need to be the most cutthroat & brutal when fighting their opponents. They would also need to have a very strong will to continue living. An indomitable will to live is what's lead us humans this far 😂 You're right about their motivations tho. They would be aliens & essentially gods compared to us. Their thought processes compared to ours might be like an advanced quantum supercomputer compared to a single celled amoeba.... They'd no doubt have biologically & mechanically upgraded both their bodies & their minds too
@enderkool2 жыл бұрын
@@Jem_Apple i think if there were only one or two major alien species near each other they wouldnt evolve to have an instinct for power and control, mainly because its unnecessary and could be harmful within their own species (kinda like us with all of our nukes pointed at each other)

We have already gone too far in technology and industrialization that it's already depleting our planet. All this in just a short period of time. Ancient animals lived for hundreds of millions of years and didn't even damage the planet as much as we did in just a span of 200 YEARS.

I think I later saw a video that the great Void was considered boring and lifeless until recently when an astronomy club used their time to point the Hubble telescope at the Great Void and discovered there were actually a lot of objects there that turned out to be of great interest. I don't remember what was blocking out some of the light from the Great Void but new interests were taken into exploring that area of the night sky.

Well since nobody knows what really compressed everything into a dot that created the Big Bang and the universe and everything was formed from atoms and molecules and we are also atoms and molecules that are just aware of their own existence it is possible that if there was some kind of consciousness that created the Big Bang that we do have our own conscience but that everyone’s conscience is also a part of the conscience that created the Big Bang which means that what created the Big Bang is expanding and has been creating for billions of years and that conscience is in control of not only us but every planets orbit which means it created the earth and created us and is us and we are it. If that is kind of what you meant then you may be right🤷🏽♂️.

How amazing it would be to travel not only across our own galaxy but from galaxy to galaxy across the universe. I've dreamed about this since I saw Star Wars "A New Hope" in the theater when I was 10 in 1977. I met Neil Armstrong a couple years before that. It still blows me away that I shook hands with a man that walked on the moon. It makes me feel queasy to my stomach when I think about the vastness of the universe and also a little defenseless. I try not to feel insignificant under all of that. In some ways I wish I had been born a few hundred years from now. Unfortunately all I can do is look through my telescope and dream.
@djames847225 жыл бұрын
Gitarzan 66 It’s mesmerizing thinking of the vastness of this universe. It would be amazing enough to travel from galaxy to galaxy in this universe! It would also be supremely amazing to travel through parallel dimensions (parallel universes) starting with Parallel Earths! I enjoyed the telly show Sliders!
@Gitarzan665 жыл бұрын
@@djames84722 Hey there. I must admit that after watching the George Knapp Skinwalker Ranch lecture the whole inter-dimensional thing kinda scares me lol. I will have to look up Sliders. I didn't know that's what the show was about. Thanks!
@djames847225 жыл бұрын
@@Gitarzan66 I suppose Inter-Dimensional travel would be quite daunting; after all to contend with travelling the universe - the different galaxies would be a massive undertaking in and of itself, but to travel to other universes - parallel universes, would be in a "different dimension" altogether! Yes, Sliders was an American television series about a a group of travellers who traverse the dimensions, from one parallel Earth to another....in the hopes of perhaps someday getting home (to their original Earth). It starred Jerry O'Connell as Quinn Mallory - the inventor of the Sliding Machine sliders.net I really enjoyed the show. It ran from 1995 to 1999.

The Kardashev scale originally was meant to describe the power of advanced civilizations, in particular, those that have achieved the ability of space flight. It uses a geometric progression based on the amount of power accessed by the species as it grows. The earliest emerging civilizations don't appear, except as fractional numbers, because their activity is not very significant on a cosmic scale. These only get a full count when they might be noticed by a theoretical "outside observer," as you will soon see. I am adding a few extra levels to the original three, since there was little use for that as a measuring stick to evaluate gradual progress. Let me start near the beginning, when the culture starts to reveal its potential significance. Type One: "Novice" (revised) intensive use of more than half of the planet's habitable surface area for urban dwelling, agricultural production, industry or resource extractive purposes. Oceans, ice caps and deserts are not typically considered habitable, although some oases may exist. Type Two: "Unstable" (revised) threatening the ecological health of the planet by careless practices, whether by stripping resources, excessive pollution, or loss of secondary species. Type Three: "Emergent" (revised) has acquired sufficient technology to make space flight and colonial ventures possible. Potential for mass self-destruction demands a quest for coexistence. Type Four: "Maximized" (original) Type One: intentional use of all the insolation received by the planet for food or power. (revised) has accessed or made feasible all of the resources and energy available on the planet. Approaching a sustainable global regime for shared resources and political consensus or a tolerant balance of powers. Type Five: "Outbreak" (revised) has established self-sufficient populations, with trade routes, in multiple extra-planetary colonies, and continuing to spread. Industrial development of free-floating habitats, space infrastructure and specialized project construction begins. Type Six: "Established" (revised) has explored the entire stellar system in sufficient detail to map a super-majority of its geography and resources. Technological proficiency allows pioneers to colonize the frontiers at will, and choose political independence. Type Seven: "Expansive" (original) Type Two: intentional use of all of the energy output of the star for habitation and industrial purposes. (revised) complete access to all of the resources and energy available within the star system, including its planets, moons, and smaller satellites. Experimental robotic ships explore the nearer neighboring star systems and the conditions of intermediate space. Type Eight: "Arrival" (revised) first colonies established around other star systems. Ultrahigh-energy physics experiments explore the potential for travel at relativistic or supra-lightspeed velocities. Type Nine: "Manifesto" (revised) seeding the stellar neighborhood with many colonial ventures, discovering the range of variety of system formation and geography, and revealing the frequency of the origins of life. Type Ten: "Epitome" (original) Type Three: acquisition and use of the entire energy output of all of the stars in the whole galaxy. (revised) technological capacity to range at will throughout the galaxy, planting colonies, developing resources and tapping unlimited energy as needed to sustain the presence and growth of the species in all its various iterations. Sophisticated modes of long distance travel and self-contained habitat ships allow for sporadic attempts to surpass galactic boundaries. Conclusion: As you can see, the original version of the Kardashev scale assessing the power use of a space-faring civilization was excessively over-simplified. Having only three tiers, it did not allow for any detail or description of the intermediate stages of development. At every stage, it required an "all or nothing" obvious achievement in order to advance to the next rung of the ladder, and totally lacked any descriptive or predictive powers. This revised version does have more capacity for descriptions, and also allows for a certain amount of flexibility. It can be used to note and measure some fractional attainments, and can accept some skipping and mixing of non-linear development patterns, while still offering some definite levels of meaningful achievement for comparisons. Nor does the new scale have to terminate at the edge of the galaxy, or proceed to such degrees as beggar the imagination. At Type Eleven, the colonization of another galaxy, and at Type Twelve, the colonization of the whole local group of galaxies is enough, while further expansion into the greater Super Cluster and beyond may be designated by more numbered levels. These do however go so far beyond the imagination that those technologies would likely appear magical to our sensibilities. And any further would simply involve the acquisition of the entire knowable Universe. It seems probable that, at some point, even before we claim the far reaches of our own galaxy, we are likely to discover another intelligent, civilized and space-faring species and learn not only whether the scale is truly useful, but have the realization that we must share the Cosmos with our neighbors. And that will be a clear answer to one of the oldest questions we have ever thought to ask. If you wish to adopt and promote this revised scale for the comparison of developing civilizations and space-faring technology, you may be my guest. I ask only that you acknowledge and attribute it to its source, and name it the "Makarios Scale." Makarios means "Blessed" in greek, and any species and civilization that this scale would measure should be well aware of their blessings. And I thank you for your patience and kind consideration. Shalom. I published this in September 2020, in my own obscure little blog: www.emunahechad.blogspot.com

@@oogabooga8689 If the reason for doing so, is to create energy. You would just need to build a dyson sphere-like mirror around the black hole and blast electro magnetic waves into the enveloped black hole to generate an "infinite" amount of energy. Which is something a Type 2 civ could easily do. The mirror itself should be easier to build than a dyson sphere and would require much less material. Ofcourse actually hurling stars into black holes that would probably require being a Type 4 civilization.
