Some tips on freedom - always swap to smash after a perfect dodge and m2 - you can swap to smash during an m1 chain (yes it is true), press left click and then right click immediately after, then R, and then continue the m1 chain. You will swap to smash while doing the m1 chain - generally staying on whirlwind is best in neutral cause of the 0 endlag dashes and sway back, but if you want to swap to flicker without randomly throwing an m1 you can block and left click and R. Dont swap yet tho, cause you only want to swap when you are immediately going to use an m1 afterwards to catch the opponent off guard - you can swap to flicker during cutscenes or while being downed, meaning u can try to spam m1 and hope you land it first (perfect dodgable tho) how to beat freedom - only flicker jab has basically no endlag (and also the longest reach making it the hardest to punish), so if the freedom user uses whirlwind jab, it is generally punishable - when the opponent swaps to smash to break your guard, it is generally better to just unblock entirely since smash m1s dont do shit for damage (immediately block again if they swap to flicker) - feinting is your best friend, since a single m1 chain (for some styles even after the reduced mana from feinting) breaks freedom’s guard - freedom ult gain is garbage (cuz low hp), so they wont get an ult until atleast they have been downed once, unless they stall REALLY REALLY hard, use this as knowledge might be other things but i dunno

I can relate to freedom being the hardest style to use but also one of the hardest to counter due to its nonexistent endlag, swayback, wild style (switching modes). Its hard to use cuz u have to get used to being caught less while also managing switching styles, but when used correctly its really going to be hard to defeat a freedom user.

Some tip for you when against freedom -No random dash and do random dash if possible -Freedom style has only 80 heals which lower than other styles When freedom user in whirlwind mode +Walk to your enemy wait for sway back fail and do m1 ( same as against to hawk) +whirlwind mode has huge counter dmg so dont get countered +If that user do backdash after sway back , you know what to do in that solution (watch Jwordz clip) When freedom user in flicker mode +pd is the greatest thing to do bc M1s will always come from left, M2 will always come from right +block because M1 has chip dmg , good rng and speed ; M2 has decent dmg , rng and speed +flicker has the worst dash and slowest walk speed of the 3 modes so freedom users hard to do pd When freedom user in smash mode +go far away because this mode has the lowest range but Its walk speed is good and has a fairly nice dash +block M1 because smash mode has the worst M1 +pd M2 becasue it has the slowest speed In short , just keep calm and do pd as much as you can when against to freedom user , block flicker M1 , dont get countered by whirlwind and pd smash M2 and keep distance This is my experiences when use freedom and against to other freedom users

Although all the tech freedom has for swapping stances can be difficult to pick up, one of the easiest optimizations you can make is swapping to smash during any perfect dodge (including sway) to get more damage. You can also switch to flicker for guard pressure i guess, but that feels more situational. The way you do it is, during the start of the perfect dodge when you cant do anything, press m2 (or m1 for flicker). Though you dont attack, this counts for stance swapping, allowing you to swap to smash or flicker for your guaranteed hit

How to beat freedom: Give up on infighting, try dash reading and countering. Freedom has no base hp, so you are practically playing Counter in terms of damage, and since they will get scared of you starting to read them, you can use that to brute force.

recently I fought a freedom user in ranked who switched to flicker at the start of the match and didn't switch off of it for literally the entire match. the fact that freedom flicker is just better hitman is just so incredibly strange to me. I don't main Freedom and I don't plan on ever doing so but i know, from experience fighting them and from self experience, how beat a Freedom. Freedom isn't one playstyle, its multiple (no shit, it's just multiple styles in one), and so you can abuse this by changing how you fight a Freedom user when they simply change their style type. Whirlwind - Picture you are fighting either Hawk or Hands Low depending on how frequently they use their swayback. If they use it often, just think of fighting Hawk. If they use their side dashes and counter-abilities, think of them as using Hands Low. Flicker - Hitman. Just Hitman but worse (lower walkspeed, dmg, speed (in general) etc). If you somehow don't know how to fight Hitman already, their light attacks (M1s) always come from your right and their heavy attacks (M2s) always come from your left. Smash - Freedoms mainly use their M2s while in Smash mode so kinda just acknowledge that they are in Smash mode when the red indicator is shown and make sure you are attentive. Some Freedom: Smash players don't always use their M2s and use their M1s, as they are aware of the speed on Smash's M1s and all the M1 animations are directly ripped from each style respectively. I use this strategy and I like to stay in Smash mode only if I am sure I can tell what my opponent will do and respond with M2s (its fun when i get it right :D) Some Freedom players will mix up their styles incredibly fast, making it difficult to remember the properties of each mode and counter them in practice on the fly. I, so far, have never seen a Freedom player do this other than myself and the example of this strategy shown in the video. Probably because its hard to keep up with all your modes yourself but then again, I don't find it hard to switch up my playstyle, back and forth, in a heartbeat soooo... ig freedom users just gotta use more than 80% of their brain power while playing freedom.

As my second ever legendary, I can confirm that when played correctly, yes freedom is busted. BUT there are some false accusations. Freedom cannot change modes while holding f, it must be after that type of input. E.g: m1 while using whirlwind = ability to switch to flicker. It does have slight end lag, but not noticeable enough to punish. And the lower health and block health balances the “op” aspect of it, as you get completely wiped by good iron fist or slugger players. That’s my rant, have a good day 😇
