Hey Sean - your narration is so helpful to us new/wannabe pilots. Really enjoy your videos. Btw, you flew right over my house on that flight.

Low time PPL here about 200 hours. The thing I like most about your channel is you never respond defensively to comments, even if an idiot made the comment. Kudos sir! Enjoy your videos. I fly a 172 but have a friend with a SR22 that I get to fly with. Keep it up!

@@Cirrusly-Sean Old dog here....... My opinion? You can never get enough air time in nice conditions on low hours but I do NOT like to see and hear about low hour pilots getting into IFR, icing or basically all the nasty conditions. Far far too many are doing just this on a regular basis and getting caught out with very sad consequences.

I too was very annoyed with the traffic alerts and done some digging through COPA for ways to eliminate the aural traffic alerts on the ground. Apparently if the differential pressure switch is bad it will happen. I haven’t taken mine to shop for replacement yet, but plan to have them replace it on annual to see if that fixes it. Some others say if you set flaps to 50% while taxiing it will mute it, but that hasn’t worked for me.

Dude, you’re coming in at a good speed for safety. You need to bleed off more speed while in ground effect to the complete and. You’re touching down before you get to the end.

If you fly thru Malibu Canyon, 3500 feet works great (unless it's really windy). Be sure to clear the runway (at B2) before stopping to call ground. Sorta looks like you left your very expensive tail overhanging the runway. Nice flight and thanks for sharing.

Why would headwind dictate your power setting? It only means less speed across the ground, that’s it. If you want to nail your landings, you need to learn exactly what YOUR plane likes. That means a ton of pattern work. Alter you over the fence speed and see what effect it has. The height you start your round out, the pitch attitude you hold for touchdown, all of these things play a role. If you put in the work you’ll get results. You don’t feel my wheels touch the pavement, you only hear them.

You can pull the sky watch breaker it’s totally legal. Most of the time I keep it pulled because I fly with a sentry anyways. Just an fyi

New pilot here as well, also trained in a 172 but am looking to purchase a Cirrus SR22T in a couple months. Until then, I have your videos! It's really cool to watch you as a newer pilot, and you do a great job both in your flying but also in your commentary.

You shouldn’t be getting traffic alerts while on the ground, possibly something malfunctioning or an inhibit option somewhere.

Quick question. How does the MFD know which 430 to use for navigation ?
@Cirrusly-Sean11 ай бұрын
It’s hooked up to the top 430, if the top gps quits and the bottom still works, I can only use the bottom GPS for directions and the MFD will not be displayed. This has happened before, that’s how I know! Lol

Does your nose wheel shimmy when it makes contact during landing? I had that problem in my SR22 G1.
@Cirrusly-Sean Жыл бұрын
It did on that landing. I think I landed pretty flat on this landing, so may have made that happen.
@lukebelvin4900 Жыл бұрын
@@Cirrusly-Sean well if you keep noticing it I suggest getting a mechanic to adjust the poundage. On my SR22 it almost broke the nose gear off and became that violent i had to stop the engine on the runway to prevent prop strike with severe engine damage. Safe flying!
@Cirrusly-Sean10 ай бұрын
Whoa!! It hasn’t happened since this video, but I think it had everything to do with a flatter landing on this touchdown. Keep that nosewheel off the ground for a few more seconds lol.

Had too much speed on landing. Had nothing to do with needing to add power for headwind. In two videos I've seen, too much speed over the numbers. Would pay to review and work on that for safety and control on the runway. Dont become a statistic.
