The best tool you have in my opinion is "the table around your sewing machine" - nice work surface for handling material for prepping and sewing! Sigh...only in dreams will I ever have a Juki 2810, such a great machine. I'm using a Consew Model 18, with a foot that lifts [via a Moon pedal on a bicycle chain] only 1/3 as high, is temperamental with regard to thread tension, no reverse so you have to do 4-D chess to get nonpulling seams, hates my guts, is one complete bastard and may as well be made by Caterpillar, but it's a very good teacher. Maybe it will help me earn enough for a better machine. Thanks for sticking w/ us, Rudy.

Yes they do get expensive I make holsters and belts my cobra class 4 was $3900 my used consew 227 was $1000 and my Thompson walking foot was giving to me but it’s around $400-$500 the only problem with the consew is it doesn’t have reverse the consew 227R has reverse I also have about 14 other machines some were handed down the others I purchased I don’t use them all I just collect them but let me tell you even though they are expensive they are worth it the cobra class 4 has I think a 16”-18” arm with reverse and will sew 3/4” tooling leather all is a blessing from God

However I am now downsizing and went to a 21 gallon 110 Volt from Harbor Freight. It does run more often, but I needed the 110V so I can run it with solar.
