My cables are not laying smooth and nestled into each other like yours are. I think that means I’m entering the needle into the wrong front post and I just can’t figure it out. Any chance you could add some verbiage onto the screen that would instruct how many stitches over to the left so I can get the placement of my needle, right, thank you

My dear, if you are watching on a computer screen there is an icon somewhere that you can use to cast this to show through your television and that would give you a very large picture to look at to figure things out a bit better. Also, you can go back to about the 3 min mark, when this person is beginning to do the offset stitches that make the faux cable. Also double check and make sure you're keeping even tension and not having too much slack when you're doing this extra long Stitch. Also, is your yarn and hook size teamed up properly as to size? The icon that looks like a cog wheel is the one you use to reach your Settings, and within the Settings you should be able to find one that will help you Magnify by tapping the screen three times if you are using a handheld electronic device such as a cell phone or tablet but unfortunately I've never used a PC so you're on your own to find out about that. However . reach your settings you will find something labeled to that effect and it will be accessed by point and click with the mouse. Also there should be a setting that says Quality or Picture Quality, maybe Viewing Quality that may have an instant fix to sharpen up what you're watching. Within the Settings under the title Accessibility, there are settings for visually impaired to enhance the colors or brightness or contrast to help everyone see better, whatever their abilities or challenges. And of course there is the ever-popular setting under the gear icon - at least in my experience: the PLAYBACK SPEED. From 25% to 200% (one/quarter; 1/4 speed, up to 2× /twice the speed). You could slow it down and enlarge it, and see what you are missing. Speaking for myself I have learned way more and advanced much farther than I would have ever hoped by simply being still and quiet - definitely getting rid of Music such as is on this video - to just watch Turkish and Arab , Russian or Bosnian, Argentinian, Serbian and Croatian, Portuguese speaking Bolivians and Norse women who speak a weird Spanish/Portuquese/Italian dialect, and so many other women do special tricks with their sticks. . . WITHOUT WORDS. It is amazing how it frees them minds focus on what is seen that you do understand and what your mind takes in that is seen that you don't understand ...yet. I picked up an entirely alternate way of knitting just by looking to learn how to knit the typical ways. But as I got to knitting the two typical ways to my I really began to ferret out the videos that were different and everything seemed easier than throwing the yarn around the tips of the needles and getting dyslexic trying to figure out where the yarn is supposed to go and in Continental knitting the problem is the Pearl because you really have to wrangle needle and yarn to get that Stitch done, but then your whole row is looser because of all of the finagling you have to do so everyone wants to do a Russian Purl, but that creates some other problems. But this way that my I feared it out and various videos showed no problem at all of this women being very dexterous in doing all kinds of really cool stitches with this alternate way of knitting...Eastern. Sometimes it is called Russian. Or Eastern European knitting. One day I asked Google what is the traditional old style knitting that is done in Russia and ta-dah! Many Knitters doing video tutorials don't tell you what kind of knitting they're doing, they just simply show it. I discovered that most Knitters think that the way they met is the only way that there is because they are unaware of any other kind because they didn't go out seeking they learned it from someone in their families. It simply seems not to occur to them to tell what they are doing. And on some videos a lot of crocheters use the term knit simply because their language does not have a word for crochet. And so many people who are doing videos use both words so I was always confused as a crocheter but as I watched a knitting video, by golly I wanted to learn how to do that too. Don't let language or know verbiage be any kind of rock in your path to trip over. Adjust your settings in keep on digging for gold. If there is no language , they probably don't understand English or don't have the skills to translate , or don't feel they should have to. Crafts done by the hands seems to be an international language, if you can see it you can do it.

That was a very good detailed reply you got there. Very interesting, and a lot of technical knowledge there. When I see someone using a crochet hook, I immediately think crochet, but they say you can knit with a crochet hook. I do not know. But to the person that first commented here. The instructor sc twice then does the double treble front post stitch in the third sc of the first row, skips the stitch of the dtfpstitch, sc two times then repeats down on row one. I hope that help. You have already figured it out. I would love to make a very warm Ruana using one of his or her pattern swatches. I know nothing about designing. I love watching their crochet swatches, I am NEVER disappointed. God Bless each of you.
