The Advaita school of thought in Hinduism, like Buddhism, says that all forms are permeated by or are expressions of the universal soul. All is one. Therefore, my belief in a statue representing the universal soul is as valid as your belief in facing Mecca when you pray. These belief divisions are nonsense, and each person must worship in the way they prefer.
