I'm so glad that consumer grade semi-pro pyrotechnicians now have single shot items like the mines and comets available. Single shots are a lot of work but the patterns you can make and just the absolute wall of fire ya can make is almost as memorable as the shells themselves.

When I used to do shows,I'd start off with 150 or so of 6" mortars,then around 175 or so of 8" Artillery shells,then all the smaller items,by the time the final part of the show took place,we had nearly 200 5",6" 8" artillery shells.Unfortunately nobody ever filmed the shows.We'd spend every 4th of July around $75,000 for the show,of course we'd have people donate money for this show,plus we got the Class A stuff at a discount too.But,we also had a BBQ for everyone too and the streets we had blocked off,plus an Ambulance on Stand by,those were the days.

Pro tip: When shooting 1.4pro or 1.3 cakes with backup fuses, don’t leave them on top of the cake. Instead, wrap them down the side. Otherwise, when the cake fires, it will ignite that fuse and you’ll end up shooting a row or two simultaneously, which leads to the cake ending sooner than anticipated. This is especially bad on a timed show or pyromusical.
