We are visiting Pyrenees National Park! With two days to explore, we found two family-friendly hikes in the Pyrenees: Lac de Suyen and Gaube Lake. Both said they were toddler-friendly, but we decided to put that to the test with our one and three-year-old.

Amazing scenery! You are both so brave to hike with young kids! Admire you both! How do you afford your foreign travels? Great to do when you are young so you don't wait till older and might not be physically capable. Don't get old is my advice! As I can barely walk I get to virtually hike thru your videos! Thank you so much.

Thank you! We're entrepreneurs, so we've started a few businesses since we started traveling full-time in 2014. Last year, we decided to sell most of them so we could have more time and money to travel while the kids are young. We share more of the details in this post: heathandalyssa.com/the-intentional-pursuit-of-less-why-we-sold-3-businesses-in-less-than-a-year/

The pain-au-chocolat that's ubiquitous in French bakeries is called chocolatine in SW France and most of French Canada. Some other regions may give it yet other names locally, but everybody understands pain-au-chocolat.

That's so interesting! I was wondering why some people called it chocolatine but it looked the same!

It's so great to see you guys adventuring with the kids at a slow pace. So many people think your life gets put on hold when you have babies. That's ridiculous! I also like how I heard several times how you were just going to do what you could do and take all the time you needed. That's how you build great memories, not rushing around and thinking about everything you didn't get to do! I hope young parents see your videos and get inspired to explore with their families. -Ari

This comment made my heart happy Ari. Thank you. I agree. Adventuring with our kids is what energizes us and excites us in this season of life.

If you go slow then there is time to stop and smell the flowers.

Hey there 😊🙌🏻 I have to say, I really enjoy watching your vlogs - thank you very much 🤩. And you two seem to be so nice 🫶🏻. Just one thing, which could be helpful for you, as well as your baby: I’m a baby wearing consultant, so due to my job, I recognize, how people wear their baby carriers and I can’t help myself when I see room for improvement 😅. Your wife had your baby on her back and that’s no problem at all and at the same time, there are some things to keep in mind, so that the baby wearing experience is pleasant for the adult, as well as the baby. 1. For the health of the babies hips, it’s important, that the knees of the baby are above the hip, so it looks like the letter M from behind. When the legs are hanging down, it’s not good for the hips. It’s also very important, that the pressure from the straps on the babies back is not so high, that the back is straight. The back should be round. And one other information, most people don’t know. It’s not recommended to wear babies on your belly with their face forward facing. For several reasons. First, the pressure on the genital area is to high. The position of the hips is not good. And also they get a lot of stimulation and can’t hide from it, which they can to when they are belly to belly or on the adults back. I hope, it’s somehow understandable (English is not my mother tongue) and perhaps my information is useful for you. Perhaps you have the possibility to get a consultation to find the perfect baby carrier. The consultant can also show you how to wear the baby properly, so it’s also better for your wife’s back, so she doesn’t get back pain. Greetings from Germany 😊

What a gem! I like the feeling that there's so much more to see in a place. That means something to look forward to, research and dream about. Taking kids on suitable walks and hikes is a great way to develop their love of the outdoors and also to let them experience 'danger' in a supportive environment. As you found with Ellie's "What?", toddlers don't have any concept of this and need to get themselves into a slightly dangerous situation to understand fear and that they might need help to extricate themselves. This is important learning whereas just using words isn't enough. I love what you are doing and the places you are visiting. Cheers. Robin (retired teacher of littlies from New Zealand)
