In South Korea, all men have to enlist into the South Korean military between the ages of 18 and 28 for a minimum of 2 years of active service. Recently South Korea changed this law by creating the "BTS Law" where any idol or idol group that has received has received the Order of Cultural Merit, which is one of the highest civilian honors in South Korea, will have until they are 30 to enlist. BTS is the only idol group in history to have received this honor, no to mention they are also the youngest in Korean history to receive this honor. They created this law because BTS brings almost 4 Billion dollars into the Korean economy and they don't want to lose that massive source of income. BTS didn't actually have any choice in this new law and never asked for it. BTS are extremely proud to be South Korean and have said that when it is their time to enlist they will do it with pride and they see it as their duty to their country and it is an honor to serve. Jin and Suga are 28 this year and should have enlisted this year but they have deferred until next year. What is most likely to happen is the entirety of BTS will take a two-year hiatus from 2022-2024 while they all serve and then will have a massive comeback. They most likely won't disband after their service because they recently extended their contract until 2027. But there is no need to worry because you guys still have 300+ songs, including solo work, 5+ TV shows, three movies, and a constant stream of content from both BTS and fans to catch up on. It will feel like they have never left, lol.

Actually, the normal deadline (not postponment) of 28yo would mean they'd have to go before they turned 29yo. Under this, only Jin would've had to enlist before his 29th birthday this year (Yoongi would've had to next year before his 29th birthday in March). But since the postponment deadline will be at 30yo, idk if this means that they'll be able to hold off until before their 31st birthday. If that were the case, this could mean that Jin can wait to go before his birthday in 2023. And Korea recently enacted revisions to service that would only require the length of time to be 18-22 months, depending on the branch.

There are over 3000 different entertainment companies in South Korea but this industry is run by "The Big 3" SM Entertainment, JYP Entertainment, and YG Entertainment. These three companies have complete control of the media in SK and therefore it is almost impossible to be successful if you are not a part of one of those three companies. For example, when BTS was raising in popularity they were cut from broadcasts, their performances weren't uploaded to KZbin, they blocked from variety shows, and beaten down in every way possible, including having to get ready in front of the bathrooms at a major music award show because they weren't even given a dressing room and were openly looked down upon by other groups, idols, and staff even though they had the best-selling album of that year. BTS was the very first group in history to win "Artist of the Year" while having no affiliation with the Big 3. It was groundbreaking but also almost got that music show shut down for "corruption" saying that the award was given to BTS "out of charity" and they "didn't deserve it". This makes Jungkook's decision to go to Big Hit over JYP even more incredible because back then that could have been considered ending your career before you even had one. Armys consider their entire discography is sacred. The lyrics are important (they are hip-hop at the core) as they put their own thoughts into the lyrics- they are telling us their story through the songs. A song off of their first or third album is connected to their most recent, etc. Our playlist are based on what we are in the mood for: edm, neo-soul and jazz/r&b, rap heavy, etc. I’ve never listened to pop in my life. Been a fan since 2015. I like the music from all the different eras BTS has gone through and appreciate the variety in styles that still constantly evolves - no matter what kind of mood I am in they have music that fits it 😁 I would recommend doing the MVs from the beginning in order to gauge the growth of them as artists but honestly any way you choose to go it will still be a fun ride so just enjoy and go at your own pace 🥰

In Korea, men are required to do their conscription before they reach 30 yrs old. Most of them go at 28 to finish their 18 months service. Precisely why the "BTS LAW" was passed in December,2020 , extending it to age 30 because Jin was already 28 then by Korean age. So now Jin can continue with BTS for another 2 years. They may yet decide to serve together by then.

There are three major entertainment companies of South Korea all known for their strict, malicious, and brutal teachings. The first is SM ENTERTAINMENT known for groups like Exo, Super Junior, Girls Generation, and Red Velevet they are the company who tried to sabotage Bighit and BTS the most and are known for making their artist go under strict diets and forced plastic surgery. JYP ENTERTAINMENT is known for groups like Wonder Girls, Miss A, Stray Kids , and Twice. They are most popular for their girl groups but are known to have bad management like with their ex group Got7. Lastly of the big3 is YG known for Blackpink, Bigbang, and 2NE1 all good groups but known for their poor managements and STRICT trainings. Bighit raised above the Big 3 2018 but are considered above all because of the differences in which they treated their artist. Bighit was one of the first to let their artist call home, eat, and have personalities part of the reason BTS was able to capture more of an audience compared to the manufactured groups of the Big 3 entertainments

In South Korea all able-bodied men a required to enlist in the military for 2 years. Unless you are an athlete who has won a Olympic gold medal or a classical musician then you can exempt. However, on a new law was passed on Dec, 1st 2020 which many call the "BTS Law" that allows any Idol who have won a culture merit award to postpone their enlistment until the age of 30. This law was passed just a few days before Jin's 28th birthday. But I believe all 7 will enlist together in 2022 instead of going individually. And don't worry BTS want to enlist because just like here in the states its considered an honor to serve for your country.

Every korean male citizen has to attend the military for at least 1 year and some months(not sure) before they turn 30 This is the law and it is mandatory...which means that BTS will also have to attend the military soon this year😔💜

@@JasKenny South Korea is still technically at war with North Korea which continually threatens to invade SK and launch missiles toward SK waters. The Korean war has never officially ended even though fighting stopped in 1953. SK has their men enter the military for 20-24 months to train in case NK decides to do something stupid.

Uh, actually, a new law is already in place that allows them the choice to postpone until the members are 30yo (internationally). The law allows any pop culture artist who've received both a government award and recommendation from the Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism the opportunity to postpone service. And only BTS are currently eligible for it. Idk, if the postponment will apply the current allowances for enlistment though. Usually, the deadline is at 28yo. But under that deadline, other idols have been able to wait to enlist before their 29th birthday, while they were still 28yo (for example, a member from exo enlisted a week before his 29th b-day last year). Idk if this applies for postponement as well, but if it does, then that would mean the deadline for Jin would be before December 4, 2023. And length of service is 18-22 months, depending on the branch (this was a recent change in the law that was approved in 2018).

I think you should try singing! I've heard from vocal coaches that most anyone can learn to sing and can definitely improve their singing abilities. And don't feel too pressured about learning about them or identifying them. It took me around a month or so to finally connect names to faces (I'm not good with connecting names and faces either). Feel free to get into the band however feels most comfortable with you (including how you upload too!).

@@JasKenny and the BANGTAN UNIVERSE is BTS FICTIONAL STORYLINE. It tells us about a group of guys from different backgrounds that come together. They become friends while facing the challenges of life and eventually have to go a journey of self discovery of themselves. We don't know how it ends because they are still adding details and events to the storyline. This story includes how one of them repeatedly goes back in time trying to save the others, while slowing losing themselves. In the description box of the MVs you will find the letters BU in the box showing that that MV is definitely a part of the storyline. Any content that is not an MV there are fellow ARMY that will have it..one guaranteed person is XCELESTE she has multiple videos about the WEBTOONS, NOTES, and had made a recent theory summary of storyline with everything we know so far. Also BIGHIT is currently directing a TV show(K-DRAMA) based on this storyline set to be released either later this year or next year.

from what I know south Korea is still at war with north korea, the two sides have yet to reconcile since the Korean War so that is why they have mandatory military service for all body-abled males in the country. A new law was created last year that can allow idols to be exempt for a few years but I'm not 100% sure if BTS will take advantage of that new law. They will announce when the time comes when they need to go so I'm not too worried about it. BigHit (rebranded as HYBE) is now the largest idol company. They are so big that now they own Justin Bieber and Ariana grande's company in the United States lmaoo

Korea - its mandatory to do govt military service - i think the age of 30 --- i was watching you guy's other reaction and u guys wondered what does it mean to be 14 but in Korean age one wld be 15 yrs old - it similar to the Chinese culture, while you're in the womb u are living towards ur first year of life, so by the time ur born, ur 2 yrs old.

could you please try to synchronize the audio and video portion of the videos you are reacting to. there's about a 5 second gap between the audio and the video on this. I am really hoping that you didn't purposely offset the audio from the video for copyright purposes? first off these documentaries are uncopyrighted there made by basically BTS army fans like like xCeleste who did the this is BTS BTS hardships videos. he also has a reaction channel where she reacts to all the K pop idol groups. anyway you really should look up the text of the fair use clause of the copyright law.

Wassup Rob! I assure we didnt do that tbh didnt know it was a thing. Our camera only last 25 mins before it over heats so when we react to anything longer than that we have to end it and start a separate clip so then we start the syncing process and also we wont make money on almost all of the BTS content we do this because we have fun doing so and our supporter hopefully like yourself enjoy them we do better next time but just keep that in mind Appreciate your feedback though 💜

The video gets a couple things off. JK mentioned in BTS's 2020 New Year's vlive that he signed onto BH in June 4, 2011 and SuperStar K aired in April 2011, which means that he was 13yo when he came to BH. BTS have stated over and over that Dynamite was never planned in the first place--they have explained in their interviews, such as with US Today, that the song never would've happened if it wasn't for the pandemic. In their interview with Variety in 2020, RM stated that he tried to write Korean lyrics for the song but they felt the English version fit the song better. He stated that part of the reason why they decided on keeping it English was bc the craziness of 2020 encouraged them to try smt new and crazy. The thing with Hobi is a bit more complex too bc there's nothing definite to say that he actually auditioned to be a trainee for JYP. The thing with JYP was smt new and was more recognized as a dance competition and not their usual audition format. During that time, Hobi has stated in BTS's 2013 Japanese Fanclub Interview (and the only time Hobi ever spoke about this, I believe), that he used to go around and enter a bunch of dance competitions. He actually won the popularity award at the JYP competition and took home 300K won. K-ARMYs have translated the competition details and Hobi should've also been offered the chance to study in Seoul (according to the prize details), but he definitely didn't bc he graduated from his hometown high school in Gwangju, where his father teaches. The video also leaves out the original potential line-up of BTS, which is a pretty important factor to the group's creation, as the CEO, Bang Shihyuk, had planned on debuting a hip hop crew. When he changed it to an idol group, everyone except RM, Yoongi, and Hobi left. So, while Yoongi does complain that Bang tricked him, he had the opportunity to leave too but obviously made the choice to stay on when it was clear he was going to have to dance.

@@JasKenny tbh, if they stuck with debuting as a hip hop crew, I doubt they'd even be the same line-up in the group today. The CEO, Bang Shi-hyuk, indicated before that he wanted to work with ppl who already displayed passion for music, so if we take into account the kind of ppl he was looking for before the transition, everyone from the earlier line-up was from the k-hiphop scene on their own terms before joining with BH. Bang stated in his interview with TIME in 2019 that after he made the decision to debut an idol group, only RM, Suga, and J-Hope remained, and then he started focusing on finding members who possessed more idol-like qualities (which would be everyone in the vocal line). So, I agree with J-Hope when he said that them coming together really was destiny/fate. It's pretty amazing that they all took the paths they did to get to where they are today.
