This is not the most beautiful place in China. If you want to visit the most beautiful place in China, you should go to Western Sichuan. Western Sichuan is like the Switzerland of China, except that it is poor compared with the real Switzerland. You should definitely visit Jiuzhaigou, Huanglong, and Mount Siguniang. If you visit these places, then you don't need to visit any other places in China. Here are the wikipedia pages of the above places: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jiuzhaigou en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Huanglong_Scenic_and_Historic_Interest_Area en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mount_Siguniang

Great video, you got great weather, such clear views. Just back from there few months ago. One of the days was so foggy we could only make out tiny bits of the peaks, yet it was still so magical... I also noticed we missed so much, and you seem to have missed so much too, the cable car ride up was unbelievable, there is also a glass elevator ride, escalators, and glass walkways, and mini train ride too. Truly awesome place, and unique views, oh, nearly forgot, there's a live musical show at the bottom of the mountain every evening, specially constructed into the base of the mountain, with lake, village, and lights, breathtaking.

Stunningly beautiful!!! I couldn't help imagining a grand orchestral movement with a huge strings and horn section as we watched. Thanks for this share, Best, James and Kim
@NaickKim
@NaickKim 5 жыл бұрын
The images would indeed go well with some very dramatic music. I was already thinking about doing a drone video on China. We're really happy with our camera (Canon 80D). It has been absolutely amazing so far. We film in a very 'flat mode' (contrast and saturation set to a minimum) and then add in colours and contrast in premiere pro. It makes the footage look a lot nicer.
@salanicus
@salanicus 5 жыл бұрын
@@NaickKim Funny, I remember way back in 2000 the first digital camera technicians suggesting filming this way too. And for the benefit of same post production flexibility! We'll have to try this, thanks:)
@NaickKim
@NaickKim 5 жыл бұрын
I was still busy playing with action heroes at that time haha. Oh yes, also turn the sharpening down on your camera and add that in later. Newer cameras usually also have a 'log' mode, which has almost no contrast and saturation. It looks super bad when you view it, but it has the greatest flexibility in terms of colour grading and giving it a look. Especially the dynamic range is improved a lot with this.

The main difference is it five Buddha park you climb up the face of the with just t toe holes and holes for your hands instead of reinforcing bar ladders that they made.

@NaickKim
@NaickKim 5 жыл бұрын
Zhangjiajie is the city where the Zhangjiajie national park is, the Tianmen mountain and the glass bridge. They are all located at different parks and locations though. Zhangjiajie National Park is located about 50km from Zhangjiajie City. The Tianmen Mountain is actually located very close to Zhangjiajie City. You take the cable car to the mountain from the city centre. The glass bridge is about an hour further from Zhangjiajie National Park. We went to Zhangjiajie National Park for two days, but we only filmed the first one. In this video we did the northern part with all the beautiful views. The second day we went hiking in a loop on the Eastern and Southern side. It was beautiful too. We would recommend doing at least two days for Zhangjiajie National Park. We decided to skip the glass bridge after doing some research. We read that the scenery is similar to the views you get at zhangjiajie National Park and that the glass bridge itself is not that impressive. We also decided to skip Tianmen Mountain because it was difficult in terms of timing for us. We were leaving on the 1st of October to get to Shanghai and avoid the crowds in Zhangjiajie. Otherwise we would have had to stay longer and stay in Zhangjiajie during golden week. The cost of all the entrance tickets can add up too. Next time when we come to China, we will visit Tibet.

If you can only visit 1 national park in China, make it this one! A little dizziness from staring off the plateau down to those huge pinnacles isn't so bad ;) would love to visit the Avatar mountains again some day!

Is that difficult to climb the mountains there? I am Chinese but I haven't gone there. I want to go somewhere which is beautiful and not difficult to wander.
@NaickKim
@NaickKim 5 жыл бұрын
No it's not difficult! There are a lot of buses in the park so you don't need to walk too much and in the parts where you do it is all paved roads, so no dirt roads. There are a few places where there are some stairs but nothing too steep. Incredible views, pretty low effort = happy campers 😉

@NaickKim
@NaickKim 5 жыл бұрын
We didn't really ask, but we found some info online that it was not banned. It is a huuuuuuuuge park, nobody seemed to care or bother us. The Chinese tourists were very interested and fascinated though. There are lots of more secluded places here.

Did you have to register your drone? Will DJI let you fly in china without registering it?
@NaickKim
@NaickKim 5 жыл бұрын
We registered it yes. Just took 5-10mins. You need a Chinese phone number and register the drone on a Chinese site. There are guides with screenshots and it is super easy. When you try to fly in China, the DJI app asks for your registration number, so I don't think you can fly without registering it. No reason why you wouldn't I'd say.

@NaickKim
@NaickKim 5 жыл бұрын
Yes that is drone footage. I think it is allowed to fly there. The place is so massive that nobody will be disturbed by it. We staid for two days in the park. We filmed just one day. The second day we went hiking on a loop through the park for a full day. It was really beautiful. The main sights can be done in one day though. We would recommend staying near the Tianzi Ticket Office. It is a lot less busy and you are immediately near the main viewing platforms.
