This is why I love MK9 so much. A lot of characters had such cool overpowered tools that were simple but you could craft your own style around them... Rain had the 4-RH pressure, Bubble resets, and the armored dash Jax had corner game that could literally suffocate and kill you Sonya & Skarlet had ridiculously tough to read pressure that was just hype! Kenshi was the ultimate keep away character (Pig of the Hut's Kenshi was EPIC) Johnny Cage had the legendary knee and Forceball frametraps and Nutpunch standing reset pressure Cyrax had those insane bomb resets that you knew if you got caught in, it was ovey Smoke had so much anti-zoning tools and was incredibly fun to fight against at the highest level Kabal was just straight broken with the IAGBs and dash cancel pressure Kung Lao was just insane all around

Plus you had niche characters with fun to use tools like: Noob Saibot with his Portals and stylish combos Shang Tsung who could carry you to him and then apply insane pressure (woundcowboy!) Freddy had crazy 50/50s and fun mindgames Kitana had her fans where she could land full combos off of Mileena had down+4 and her Teleport This game will never be topped, at least for me.

@@jhevgainz2307 Basically, Kung Lao players would do 2, 1 or 2, 4 into teleport, tele kick, 2, 1/2, 4/1, 1, 2 1, teleport, tele kick, rinse repeat. It would continue until they either dropped it or until the finish timer completed. It was basically a troll finish, lol.

Because he had hard counters against Kenshi where it was a legitimate 7-3 matchup and also did very poorly against Kung Lao and Kabal. As a Rain main, I had to work.

You saw more Kabal, Johnny, Sonya, and other S/A+ tiers because they could contest with most of the cast. Plus, most pros knew how to work around some of the broken shit that some characters had. (Cyrax bomb reset for example)

rain is not that great at meter building, its rather bad. rain cannnot randomly whiff shit or special move onblock like, say, kabal, smoke or sonya

since meter in this game is your damage AND your life. characters that have good meter building move (sonya kartwheel, kabal projectile/ overhead slam, smoke's smokebomb, skarlet F212 1+2, etc. are placed higher on the tier list

If they released a ten year anniversary edition of MK9 they would only have to change some things, first off don't nerf any of the top tier characters they should buff the low tier characters. Remove the glitches, make a better practice mode, add more skins especially for the DLC characters and you would have a great re release of MK9.

I haven't played MK9 in 6 years because MK1-3 in this game weren't my favourite characters. Glad Kenshi and Quan Chi were the 3D characters that made it to this 2D game for the first time and I always enjoyed playing them more than any 2D characters. The MK9 gameplay looked cartoon to me, it was just weird.

I'm so glad to know that Deception is one of your favorites. Me, too, I always love Deception! I was hoping NRS would easily do the same for a modern 2D era revamped Mavado, Ashrash, Kira, Sareena (she was new redesigned as a cameo in MKX), Shujinko, Nitara, Kai and the others for the next MK game in the future, but instead of NRS improving the same MK1-3 and Special Forces characters again over and over, we're stuck with the same a few that have nothing left to offer. Why a 3D era character, Frost only in MK11? Where are tons of the 3D era fighters? How disappointment in NRS.

Imagine everyone in mk11 having at least one broken thing about them. Instead they dumb the game down which makes it easier for certain characters to be broken. For example them taking away sonyas BF2 pop up making her so much more boring when they could’ve gave everyone a pop up string/special like the did with kollectors 443. It makes no sense and it really fucked up how people feel about the game.

Its i am going to grab go low, overhead or 9 fram mid into a full combo punish coming off a 9 frame mid combo starter string i can cancel into another 9 fram mid as i mentioned or a pop up for 30% damage. or a high mid combo string i can cancel into pop up or a grab or a low/overhead like i mentioned.

Amiri Well I guess it depends on how you classify “broken.” To me, the gap between the best character in Injustice and the worst character was pretty substantial, but every single character had something about them that was just flat out dumb. There were a lot of characters in MKX that were just normal imo, like Kotal or Kenshi. They did a lot more balance changes with MKX too.

All i see that people do really like broken shit. Cause it's fun! Me too. Take MK11 for example - two month and i've seen everything. Most boring MK game so far. Didn't launch it since Sindel. No interest at all. Don't get me wrong, competitive part is ok but it's not fun. I don't wanna come home from work and spent the whole evening by hitting the absolute shit out of two good button that my character have cause it's highly "competitive". NRS should do casual mode with the most broken shit every character could have, and competitive mode with everything done "right" NOT this pseudo "variation system" they have now. It doesn't work at all.

Man, this was the character that made me a fairly well-known player in the MK9 community. I miss blowing people up with this all the time. The funny thing about this video is that I really struggled against Sonya, if I would've just realized what my best tool was at the time but I think I was too busy using Breakers against her.
