Note about the monocle and eyeglasses. They only increase accuracy, but each enemy limb has its own evasion, which is not affected by your accuracy whatsoever. So even if you have 100% accuracy, and a limb has 50% evasion you will only hit it half the time.

Just watched another KZbinr talking about this game and playing through it, after watching OneyPlays playing it (and not finishing, of COURSE they never do..) and wanting desperately to know more about the game.. so this makes sense that it was shown to me. I will say this. That's fucked up for a school project 😅 but this legitimately is one of the coolest games I've ever seen in my life, and THE most brutal, both in difficulty/experience, and in the trauma it gives you. Incredible. PS: thank you for being the only person I've seen so far to do this kind of deep dive about the game, for those of us who don't have time to play it ourselves

Small mistake at the end: the yellow king DIDNT survived. In fact, in termina there is hints that the "true ending" is the god of fear and hunger (ending A) AND every characters S endings (except cahara as its the one doing the ending A in lore (as we have a proof of every other characters being gods in termina except for cahara and that one character needed to die for the ending A)). Else great video! Just missing every S endings wich are: cahara found the treasures and got back with the crown as he just needed money (not true ending as he die in enfing A), ragnavalder became a monster hunting god (i dont remember what was the proof of its survival in termina (maybe killing monsters but not sure)), enki denied ascention to read the library (and wrote a book in termina) and darce found legard dead and found fragments of a forbiden powerfull necromancy spell to revive him (and he probably ascended after the birth of fear and hunger so his powers where meaningless and he never got his own era). Its normal you never found thoses as you need to use the character of the s ending you seek as main character and execute a certain event ragnavalder needs to kill every boss before ascending witout legard, cahara needs to find the 3rd chest and leave the dungeon (when main character but he was only in your party so you didnt got the ending and im not sure if you meed to leave), i dont remenmber for enky and darce ia finding legard dead and finding stuff at precises places. I hope i helped you as the video is great and almost complete. Good 4th rewriting! (Im joking for the 4th rewriting XD)

For what I remember that Ragnavoldr's S ending becoming canon is because of low fantasy enemies in fear and hunger: termina like maneba(they serve rher so I think they also roam around the world), black witch (no witch to be found in funger 2) which made character of funger 2 unexperienced on fantasy enemy. Another is Moonless and August, August is very knowledgeable regarding the funger 2 unlike other characters and he really knows what he is fighting(except the yellow mage) he also knows enemies from the dungeon and other monsters. Moonless know August by "old friends" which indicates Ragnavoldr and Moonless met and became partners in funger 1

We have proof none of them bevome gods. Ragnvalder is August's ancestor. Can't do that as a god. He did find moonless but his S ending cannot be cannon. Enki's S ending denies godhood for enlightenment like Nosromus and writes the skin bibles in Termina as an immortal HUMAN. likely stilll alive by Termina. D'arce revives a dead L'egarde because the yellow king is an illusion in termina. His true form is the skinless monster D'arce bring back in her S ending. Cahara makes the god of funger. None of them became gods.

@@brandonfrancis1941 Yeah I don't think any of them became gods, but I though Ragnvaldr's ending had to be cannon and that he doesn't become literal god, just a huge legendary monster hunter, kinda like a Belmont, but more obscure. I've also seen good arguments against the take that Le'garde dies in Funger 1, because he doesn't act at all like what's described in D'arce's ending and other details. Just things I wanted to add to the convo.

I would never recommend Funger to someone on the grounds that it's an RPGmaker game that will have you repeating HOURS of basic looting and walking. It's a beautiful unique piece of art, but it's pretty boring as a game. I'd wager 90% of people who recommended it have played with the wiki... and a wiki is the LAST place you should be going for a game with rich lore and story.

Fear and Hunger is a game that I've never been able to complete, never have been able to fully grasp how to get good at it or turn the (overwhelming) odds in my favour. But the only game that has been stuck in my mind since the first time I played it and I always go back to it just to feel it, the atmosphere is unmatched to any game I've played, with so many references to my favourite themes too. I'm glad to have experienced and continue experiencing it. And consuming ALL the long video essays about it 🫶

Fear and Hunger is absolute ass and I'll never play through it because I'd rather play something that's actually fun, however I like hearing about it. People can't be honest with themselves like that, they have to pretend that the things they like are flawless or something... Most of my favorite games have intense flaws, the entire Borderlands series is an absolute shit show and I still play each game off and on but you won't hear me pretending they're better than they are.
