Hi Ioki, love watching your videos and FFS videos by the way. I've always loved playing Leona and absolutely love her kit and how she can punish many players with her kit. I made it to Gold 3 but demoted to Gold 4 in Season 13 as a one trick Rammus jungle. I am discovering that Jungle may not be the best path for me because of all the focusing and carry potential for my team I need to have as a jungler that sometimes I tunnel and go autopilot mode and miss out on huge opportunities while as Support I'm generally more focused on making sure my team is doing ok and creating plays and putting forth vision and making sure objectives are secured. I generally love playing Leona and Alistar, but I'm thinking I may try for Lulu and or Sona at some point too.

i have the same issue. I dont mean to be a jungle main, it's just that the characters i love the most favor the role but i tend to go into autopilot too much. Tried Leona last week as support and it brought out my old Overwatch Mercy support tendencies of bouncing around and checking on everyone. I just wish i could make my minimap even bigger than what the max setting is.

Have to say, I've never really been a fan of Hexflash over something like free boots on that tree since I never really see Hex pay off. A second flash you can use to get over walls is good in some cases I suppose but it just misses the mark compared to getting around that much faster for me. As far as the trees themselves I've always personally viewed at as more of a heavier teamfight comp on the enemy team being a blue choice (glacial) and a burstier single target all in being a green choice (aftershock). Itemization as well, I don't really stick with the "efficient" options, I'm always looking to counter what the enemy team is doing, things like Randuins/Frozen vs AtkSpeed/Crit champs, Force vs Poke/DoT mages, etc. Is this just a mental I need to reevaluate or do some things have legitimacy here? I've got over 200 games with the champion (in norms and ranked combined) and would hate to see it go because I was actively hurting my own performance.

I used to think hex flash was bad but I saw the number 1 alistar player use it to roam and gank lanes that I never thought of doing. So I see the appeals of hex flash using it set up some good ganks. I do agree with countering the opponents with the items but the issue with randuins and frozen is that they’re so expensive and as a support it’s better to build knight and Zekes since it’s cheaper and you can get it a lot earlier and you will have a power spike faster than your opponents.

It's depending to your carry need peel or not. It's situational.

Usually i frontline with the tank since you want to create space for your Carrie’s but if the opponents have a driver like kha zixs then I would use Leona E to snare the kha zixs and peel for the Carrie’s. If the opponents don’t have assassins then it’s a battle to see which tanks die first lol

If I'm trying to climb my solo q rank with mage or enchanter supports like raka and lux, how can I control vision in the river best? with leona, I know she can frontline. However, with the champs I use, if I'm caught out, I'm squishy enough I feel that i'm inting because i was out of position or im not tanky enough for my team to respond. I find that I am constantly wanting to get vision for my team, but I don't know maybe the best way to go about it. Any advice i appreciate

Hey :) I'm a sup main. For sups like lux, I throw my e into the bush/area I'm heading into to get vision before I go to ward it. For melee sups like rakan, I wouldn't ward if I was alone or I knew where the enemies were. I ward over walls a lot to keep myself protected whilst still getting vision. :)

Make the most of seeing your enemy laners back and enemy jg in another lane. Keep an eye on your mini map. Use those opportunities to ward safely.

Gaining vision isn't worth feeding enemy team. Only get vision if you know it's safe to. Timing is important. :)

A good rule of thumb I use to safely ward is to draw a line where you have vision of each lane. Usually that will be the minions so if you past the line of the lane minions that would be consider dangerous. Before the line is safe to ward and middle is should be ok. If you’re squishy and let say you have to ward Barron ping your teammates to come with you since there’s no point dying just to ward. It’s better that you’re alive then dying for vision

@@MadMathMike Low elo Leona one-trick here: not all. Control wards are good. But only the defensive ones. Meaning with which you defend yourself from ganks. Control wards you place at objectives will die unanswered by your jungler. You put down 4 wards that are taken down effortlessly is a Cloth armor you did not buy, but 120 gold for the enemy team. As you go up and get more responsive teams, who actually look to the map and pay attention to pings, control wards are not red, but golden. If you path to mid, while your midlaner is roaming and pin down a low health midlaner, be always ready no one comes. But be VERY prepared that the moment you leave botlane alone, it will die with 2 yellow wards on. So only leave your botlaner if you warded the necessary bushes, and leave half your eyes on bot to ping it when your wards spot an enemy, because your botlaner will not see them. Big red exclamation marks sometime work. Most of the time don't. Itemisation: He is right about it in high elo. In low elo, go bruiser. Evenshroud is nice and all, but it's effect is most noticeable if more than one teammates are targeting enemies around you. Your teammates won't go for the easy picks you provide, they will chase those whom they deem easy picks and who might die at the opposite side of the map by the time they chase them down. Get a nice Sunfire Aegis. More gold, but more bang for your buck too. Even tankier, you deal damage, might even farm with it, if after you warded the dragon pit the third time just to see your teammates getting picked off one by one and the dragon taken away and you realised you need to carry the game personally. Also in low elo people tend to go after the one-two hit enemies. With Aegis you actually deal enough damage your teammates might deem your pick a valid target. Essentially manipulating them into doing their job. Zeke's and Knights Vow sounds good. If your ADC is not a potato. Or if your ADC is not an APC. If it is, then Gargoyle's, Dead mans, Force of Nature, or Thornmail are your friends, depending on the enemy team composition. I am trolling, but I usually build a BotRK second item if after 10 minutes I see people running around like headless chickens. Very ineffective build. Just more effective than straight up losing. Follow Ioki's advice. Just adjust it to your elo and your teammates. You need to play a lot more selfish in low elo and assume you are playing a 1v5 with npcs on your team. Oh, one thing Ioki did not mention. Always keep in mind, you might get a lot of stats from a Vigilant Wardstone for pebbles if you are behind. Bonus +12% of the bonus AD AP HP and CD. Very great item. Holds 3 control wards too. And if the game lasts long enough and your team needs a bit of oomph and the cash starts to flow, you can sell your support item, keep the Watchstone for warding, and get a Legendary item.

I think you're misunderstanding. I very frequently call Leona the simplest and easiest champ in the game, but that just means you have to know your timings even more to maximize everything you can from her simple kit. Auto-Q-Autos get cancelled or messed up all the time by Challengers, E Flash has multiple timings and some are cleaner than others. Knowing how and when to E-R vs. high Tenacity targets etc
