Thank you so much! I am just beginning to offer my programs on line and I was curious about using google meet over zoom. Your tutorial has been wonderfully helpful. If I'm teaching on google meet and have appointed a co-host, can I allow or appoint them to access and manage things like chat, Q&A, polls etc so that I can focus on presenting without having to track them?

Yes, your co-host will have access to all those tools within Google Meet.

The one thing I can't find: can the host get a list of all the people who joined the meeting with the email address of that person? Or at least see details about that person as they are being admitted into the meeting?

There is an attendance tracking feature in Google Meet but it's not available for all Google Workspace plans. Please check the details in this support article: support.google.com/meet/answer/10090454?hl=en

No, it doesn't change anything. If privacy is such an important issue you might want to consider having a lawyer check this.

Thanks so much for this video, very helpful! When you're in a breakout room, is there a way to "ask for help" from the host in the main room even if the room is NOT counting down 30 seconds until the room ends? For example, if I am in a breakout room and need help from the host for some general reason.

If you are a participant in a breakout room you'll see "Ask for help". The meeting moderator can then join your specific breakout room to assists you.

@@saperis Got it. But I noticed that it only prompts you to "ask for help" when the time in the breakout room is coming to a close. I'd like to be able to click on "ask for help" anytime in the session. For example, if I'm in a breakout room with a client and I need support from a member of my team, who may be in another breakout room at the same time as me.

The timer in the video tutorial is very short and that's why you might think the "ask for help" only shows up when the timer is almost done. But I can confirm that the "ask for help" is visible throughout the entire time the breakout room is open. Also if there is no timer active the participants can ask for help at any time.

@@saperis Okay, thanks. I’m not able to see the “ask for help” button on the screen while I’m in a breakout room and I’ve searched everywhere. I think it might be because I’m using Google Meet on an iPad.

On mobile devices you should see it too according to the Google Meet support page: support.google.com/meet/answer/10099500?hl=en#zippy=%2Ctips-for-using-breakout-rooms "Mobile: On the bottom right, tap Menu More right arrow Ask for help. If you don’t need help anymore, tap Cancel ask for help."

I have a paid google account. However, I only have Whiteboarding under my Activities list. Should these be included already or do I have to add them? I'm interested in the breakout rooms.

Google currently offers four different Google Workspace licenses. Some of the features in Google Meet, like breakout rooms, are available from Business Standard onwards. You can check the feature availability here: workspace.google.com/pricing.html

@@saperis thank you! After playing around with it I like it. Is there a way when allowing sharing that it can be for one specific person vs all? As it allows all to share or none. Also, when I tested the invite with sharing the link while in a started meeting, people with that link can just pop right in. Is there a way to force all users have permission before entering the meeting? I have been using Zoom for a few years and in order to move from them I've found these two issues to be concerning.

@@elenorfleming2756 You can change many of the security settings as a Google Workspace admin. Like you can make it mandatory for every participant to request to join instead of them entering the call directly. On our channel we don't cover Google Workspace admin topics in-depth as this is not an expertise of ours. But you can find further information in this Google support article: support.google.com/a/answer/7304109?hl=en If you add a whiteboard (jam) to a Google Meet call it automatically shares it with all the participants. You can't have it shared only with specific people. If you need that then share the jam before the call and only paste the link in the chat yourself.
