Amen brother. Just like all other F’ed up things in this world it comes down to $$. There was no money involved w the a rig so put it went. The tournaments organizers get too much money from electronic companies so they won’t ban it.

I really like the small size. We can only have two hooks here in our state. They locate fish very well!

I usually prefer a smaller size for my swimbaits as well. I feel like it better matches the size of the bait the bass are chasing.

3 hooks is pretty common. A-rigs are completely illegal in some states, like New Hampshire.

I like fishing the A rig, but my biggest gripe is how the bass get ganged hooked up all over their bodies. The bass loose scales. I wonder if the bass is going to die later.

I've had a few get tangled up on me like that, although not many, but they all quickly swam away when released.

I've never used an A rig but I always wanted to. I don't think it'd work well from the bank though.

I've used them from the bank and in very shallow water. Just make sure you're aware of what's under the water and keep your rod tip up.

@LowBrowFishing Yeah, I just try to stick to tourney standards. I'm not into tourneys, but I do like regulating the types of baits you can use for a truly competitive feeling of fooling fish. Live baiting or A-rigging loses the excitement for me because I'm 100% certain they'll get hit.

I personally dont have an interest in one. Its a lot to deal with to me. I like to keep things basic. I can see where people have other issues with it on being banned or not. I also dont like how the bass can get tangled up all in that mess and be hooked everywhere. I guess to each his own.

I can't tell you how many fish I've caught on an Umbrella rig. We have a 3 hook limit here but they can still be really effective.

Some jerk baits have 3 treble hooks.That is 9 points with barbs. My A rig when fully rigged has 5 points with barbs.Don't see the big whip.😂

Imagine casting such a conglomeration all day in a 3 day tournament. Back, shoulders arms and all the joints would be a triffle sore but you gotta have two more lbs. Just two.
