It's a really good idea to go through your existing collection! As collectors, I feel like it's easy to fall into the trap of focussing on the shiny new things instead of being content with what we have. I'm looking forward to those upcoming videos! As for me, the most coveted figure I own is definitely the Persona 5 Dancing Joker for which Kotobukiya finally announced a re-release! Very happy for those who can finally own him. He's an incredible figure 👌

I don't have any rare figures in my collection yet but any Kotobukiya ARTFX J Pokémon figures are so coveted that I'm glad they're slowly being rereleased now!

several reasons why Kyo got so rare. Yes on the funimation exclusivity, but also, TWICE funimation put him back in stock on their store, but both times if you ordered him, it just sort of sat there until you complained to the website and they said yeah.. he was never back in stock and just cancelled your order. Now with funimation being bought out, I'm sure the rights are all screwy and kotobukya will probably hesitate on rerelease. I got SOO lucky when HobbyBee just had him up for sale one day. I don't know where they found him but it looked like only one because as soon as I bought him, he was out of stock.

Maybe a month or two before Kyo came into stock with Hobby-Bee, I finally got into Fruits Basket, and I was desperately searching for his figure. I even contacted Hobby-Bee to see if they were expecting to get any in, and they told me not as far as they knew...then all of a sudden it popped up and I snatched it. You must have got the next one (last one in stock) but they did raise the price on it from what I paid. Still better than after market prices though.

I love that Misato figure! I think for my most coveted figures it would be the Alter Chitanda, Kyo (same as you) and the Yuki from Kotobukiya, the Ten Count Nendoroids, and the Haise Sasaki Nendoroid.

man, I've been into furuba since I was 11 or 12 back in 2007 and I remember seeing those figures drop with the new anime and being like wow. these figures are prize quality at best I'm not spending 100 bucks on that. and now seeing they've become even more expensive... there must be something absolutely Baffling about the licensing rights to furuba that justifies the way nobody is capitalizing on the market for it

I am hoping for a rerelease of Kyo 👏🏻 because I was late also, I didn't know they made a figure and I am little gutted I missed him and I am not willing to pay aftermarket prices for him.

So I just did a round of rought price check on my collection, needed to update for insurance purpose anyway, and found out which figures have the largest markup since release. About half a dozen of them have a comfortable +100% from release price, with some more very close and potentially so depending on market availiablity. Now, most of them are, at least partially, due to scale figure of the character being relatively sparse, such as Clare(Claymore) and Saeko Busujima. Many of these do have non-scales or statues but only one or two scale figures. As it were, many figures dropped significantly in price since my last round of check up (over 2 years ago) due to either re-release, atlernative release(FREEing tight vs bareleg, alt color etc) or simply finally some other figures (Tatsumaki, for example). This is, of course, on top of just a general decrease in figure value due to recent economics, most figures dropped about 10% in value. That said, there are some standouts, where I consider the figure to be quite quality and not just expensive due to the relative rarity and thus qualifying for the "coveted" status: Kobayashi Rindou FREEing w/ tights. She is just beautiful and awesome looking. Even with the bareleg alternative dropping her price quite a bit, she's still quite highly prized and therefore priced. Rin Tohsaka Stronger Racing (as part of a set). There are actually surprsingly few good Rin figures given how big the Fate franchise is and how many figure there are of the franchise. This is one of the better ones. She is also the only one of the set with a significant markup, so I guess many people do agree she is best girl(that or there are way too many sabers. As for Nero, she's just not as "major" of a character) Souryuu Asuka Langley from Flare. Asuka is just really popular, so quite a number of her figure are coveted. Rory Mercury from Kotobukiya. There are only two figures of her(though the other one have an alt color and multiple releases) so her values are a bit inflated. This is probably more subjective than the others as overall Rory is a much less well known character, I just really like them red&black fighting girls.

Be aware that there is a difference between the 2014 release and the later 2015/19 releases. The hat sits a bit higher on the 2014 release which I have and prefer as you can see more of her face. Also from what I understand there was a defect in the 2014 that made her more fragile though I have had no issues.

You should make more videos about your current collection, I've seen most of your videos but I feel like I barely know what you own. I recently got a Saber Alter Huke, I don't think she's very sought after but I really like her and I feel she's somewhat rare!

Currently mine would be the Kyoko and Chiaki Phat Company scales, the Alter Suzuha, and the Myethos Mary Saotome. None of them are particularly "rare" tho AFAIK (maybe Suzuha) Edit: I have learned that my Griffon Enterprises Cirno may be somewhat rare 🤷‍♂️ Edit 2: I now have the 50cm tall 1/35 scale Char's Zaku Animation Color Edition on order, it will be by far my rarest figure. I also just ordered the Myethos Queen of Hearts and Shibuya Scramble Rimuru which are highly sought after FWIW, and lastly the Alter Beach Shower Sanya/Eila which I'm not sure about (but I haven't seen many around)

these are neat figure you have. i don't know how rare some of mine are but i have three out four kotobukiya utawarerumono figures(kamyu, urutori, and eruruu), a shiro tuck up version from no game no life by phat, and several kousaka tamaki and komaki manakas from the to heart series, and a few tamamos.

Crazy how much Kyo & Yuki have gone up! I got mine from Amazon (was the only place us international peeps could get them) and they were in stock for a surprisingly long time so I thought they were gonna flop. I'm still holding out hope that they'll make a Tohru some day ;u; My most coveted figure is probably my Rainbow Dash bishoujo by Kotobukiya, the original version. So glad I got her and the whole set when they first released, the new variants ain't it lol

it's crazy how high figure costs can get for seemingly cheap figures! i have a few since i've been collecting since 2011, some even prize figures so just cheaper kotobukiya figures. like I got both the Gangsta. Nic and Worrick and i bought em for like 90 bucks each i think but now they go for about 850 for the pair.

I have the Camilla from fire emblem, she is very coveted by the FE community and her price is ridiculous. If I hadn't got her preorder I honestly think we wouldnt have her. Kyo is really surprising, really wouldn't have guessed he was so much. The figure I covet the most is Lavi from D.Gray-man he is my holy grail but I cannot justify nearly 600 for a figure.

Kyo is a grail for me definitely. I just wasn't collecting when he was released. My coveted/rare figure is Yuri!!! on Ice - Katsuki Yuuri - 1/8 (Chara-Ani, Toy's Works). He is also the figure I spent the most on. Dropped $400 for him. My 2nd most is Evangelion Shin Gekijouban - Nagisa Kaworu - Precious G.E.M. (MegaHouse). This is the figure that got me into collecting.

Surprised you found Maka, that is a very fragile figure, my wife's is currently missing one of it's forearms the hand is just floating attached to the scythe. It took a tumble off a shelf and I think the experience soured my wifes interest in figures. We picked it up off ebay a few years ago for a little over 100. I'm still looking for the part but I just ordered the pop up parade one thank you.

Some of my most coveted: I had the chiaki white bunny (recently sold because I’m getting the black re release), I have the kirigiri fishnet bunny, I have Tharja, I have horror bishojo Edward scissorhands, I have wisteria Lilith hag, I have the nekopara chain dress set on the fans, I have parfait, I have yae Sakura China dress and her wedding dress figure, I have the super sonico ichiban kuiji bunny girl with the roller skates and holding cake I think those are most of my “most coveted” figures based on people who see my figures and the ones they wanna steal/get excited about

I was very late to the Fruits Basket train but at the time, I was still able to get the Yuki figure from Crunchyroll. I still keep an eye out for Kyo even though I doubt I will ever get him. I love him but ain't no way I'm paying $300+ for that figure, the quality is not that impressive. Maybe we can hope for Pop Up Parade figures. It seems like they've been going for series that haven't gotten much love in the figure department. Then maybe we would finally get a Tohru too. I can dream!

There is a sad lack of Fruits Basket figures, which is likely why the Kyo and Yuki scales are so expensive on the aftermarket. And their Nendoroids were priced way higher than other Nendoroids...

Mine would be Kyo and Yuki, Akutagawa Ryuunosuke 1/8 FREEing, Ushikai Musume from Goblin Slayer Phat!, Megahouse: Naruto GEM, Konan Gals series. I am hoping for a rerelase of Trafalgar Law SOC, aftermarket is crazy but going down. The other I've been hoping to get is Juvia Lockser B'full but really high aftermarket and nervous it would be broken (especially when it's sealed)...but the 1/4 bunny will satisfy me for a fraction of the price!

My most rare figure is probably tohsaka rin by wings inc or the freeing erza scarlet with fishnets got it for 300 on jp mercari but I don’t see it go longer than 500 in the us these days

I got a figure thats not really that super rare but the aftermarket price has skyrocketed from the initial price. Im talking about the Prison School Meiko Shiraki catsuit ver. figure. Initial price was I thought 12.000Y / +- 80 euro/dollar And I see the figure on Ebay going from 250 euro up to 5-600 euro..... I bought it 2 years ago for like 200 euro's. Expensive as heck, but love the figure so much! PS also have the Akane Shinjo and Rikka Takarada (set) figures from Kotobukiya and those 2 have risen pretty much aswell, especially the Rikka one. Bought them both B/B on Amiami for a very cheap price compared to the prices now. Akane average goes 150-200 euro, and Rikka 250-350 euro.... I think Im gonna need to get insurance if those prices keep rising like hell lol

Fruit Basket is my favourite ainme. I don’t see Kyo being able to be bought. I see Yuki able to be purchased. But very expensive on Amazon. I have the ainme series to watch I prefer watching anime than reading them.

Recently one of my holy grail figure sets came up. Brand new and Sealed Nekopara Native figures of Chocola and Vanilla WITH the preorder post cards. I bought them for 159,000 Yen (exchange rate was at at 0.0069 yen to usd) Through Onemap/Mercari So after the conversion fee the Total was 1034.95 USD plus 132 USD in shipping. Think I got a good deal? with the second hand and used prices I feel like I did alright.

... What IS the most coveted figure I own? I think mine have been more recent or I found on AmiAmi preowned for cheap. I think it might be the original Momohime figure? Taking a gander at MFC based on price on shops, apparently it's my figures of Nagisa and Kotomi from Clannad, cheap figures that are going for close to $200 now. Though I do wonder about my completely random, limited edition, 1/6th Nayuki (It has a different ribbon and shimapan). Also my Mizutsune figure is close to 45k yen now.

I seen you have that eStream Megumin, do you think it’s worth ¥56k? It popped up on preowned but I went back on forth if it was worth that, especially since I have the FuRyu figure of her ordered and the base with the fire is nearly identical.

I have the Kadokawa Anime Opening Edition figure, and the Kadokawa Lolita figure, and the FuRyu Black Rose dress figure of her ordered, so when I seen this I couldn’t make up my mind and then it was gone. But I really love this figure of her.

The new one isn't as cool as the current one but it will take up less space and I already have too many Megumins on order as it is 😆

I almost bought Kyo for 90 usd on Mercari but the seller cancelled the order and told me that her cat bit his leg 😭 So she dropped the price to 70 and now I have a chewed on kyo 🥲
