0:36 it's rolling using motion controls or, if you're using a GCC like I do, rolling with Z and rhythmic Y presses also GPs out of spin jumps don't have the airstall normally inherent to GPs and you can buffer spins out of cutscenes and all kinds of other stuff lol 5:50 that's how it normally is, just with less Hammer Bros and the platform moves slower

To mod 3D world or odyssey (or really any switch game) do you need an emulator or can you just use a computer and a modded switch?

A modded Switch + a computer is enough, but something to keep in mind is that not all Switches can be modded

@@GameBlock_ If you look up "Switch moddable serial number" or "can I mod my Switch" you'll find a list of serial numbers that can be modded and can't be modded, and you can check your Switch's serial number to see if it can be modded!

Just so you know, rolling and long jumping if you need to get elevated a little or skip a hole in the ground is the fastest way to move.

The fastest way to move is a MOTION CONTROLL roll. It has to be through shaking the controller. There are other tricks (easiest to hardest), but you need to look them up. I cannot really explain them in text: Cappy roll jump Roll cancel vector Cappy return cancel (crc), I do not recommend learning the crc, unless you wish to become a top tier 2player speedrunner.

If you ground pound, hold ZL, then press Y, you roll really fast. Make sure to wait a tiny bit though so you don't do a downward cap throw

I'm really surprised that certain moves are locked behind motion controls, I would've thought there would be another way to do the same thing using buttons 🤷‍♂️

@@ZXMany Same. The downthrow is especially weird, because you need joycons, not a pro controller, to do it. Even so, it's okay because it's almost never used in the air except for a few speedrun stationary vaulting tricks. But especially targeting and moving cappy after throwing should have button options.

Definitely not a keyboard 😂 I was using the Hori controller for the Nintendo Switch! It's probably the most popular controller for Bowser throws in Super Mario 64, and some world record speedrunners even use it for the entire game instead of just switching to a Hori for Bowser throws!

I was using the Hori controller for the Nintendo Switch! :D It's probably the most popular controller for Bowser throws in Super Mario 64, and some world record speedrunners even use it for the entire game instead of just switching to a Hori for Bowser throws! I've had some videos pop up in my recommended about joy con drift, I haven't given them a watch yet, I'll have to check it out! Hopefully it can also solve whatever is causing my drift :D
