I agree with you that a main or better paid job doesn't have to be the 'be all and end all' of life. As long as that job allows you to do what you really want to do in life it's fine! You obviously still have energy/time to do other things so I'm really pleased for you! It can be hard to get the balance right!

Thank you so much, exactly! I definitely have outside aspirations and things I'm always working towards but in the meantime I want a flexible and fulfilling life!

I work early morning. And I 100% agree with you about the schedule thing!!! Getting up early does not equal success

im sooo with you in having a life outside of work, im currently a server and I work 4 days a week (friday-tuesday) and while I do work the evening shift I feel pretty balanced with my current hours :) glad you also feel the same because a service job can be draining pretty fast!

100% agree, it definitely can take a lot out of you pretty quickly but I think if you're able to find a way to not do 5 or 6 days in a week it serves as a decent buffer! so glad you're feeling balanced in your work life 💕🧚

I love your little chat about how morning people are seen as “better” but saying you personally think creative you stay up late to work are so it girl because I completely agree. I’m a morning person to my core but my sister is a night owl so I love waking up early to do my own stuff and then later on hearing about what my sister spent her previous night working on and am amazed she has the drive to stay up late to do things she loves.

LA barista here 👋🏽 I also work about 4 days a week and consider it my survival job while I pursue acting and my other creative passions so I can relate. Enjoyed this video!! 💕

Dropping a comment since I don’t have IG, but wanted to say it was very cool to randomly meet you today, Aline! 🎉 Btw, I’m a professional writer (editorial, not literary), and happy to meet up one day and chat all things writing, work, side hustles, life in NYC, etc. Hope the rest of your weekend is awesome!

Yes, thank you! The "'5 to 9' before the '9-5'" and the "morning routine" is mostly for people who don't have traditional jobs...it's a luxury for most people.

I am really not a morning person. I don’t even look good in the morning, so like why? I am watching this cause it’s sometimes a desire to be able to have more time.
