The 6 months that I have been back, I now have 6 holes in my convertible top that I have taped, encountered a maan trying to steal gas from my car at the grocery during the day, and 3 men followed me home from Walmart with the excuse that I had left my mobile phine there. I hadn't not. Luckily, my neighbor was close by and called the police. That's just me. No telling how many others are in danger here. Fortunately, my apartment lease is up in 6 more months and I am out of hear. Hopefully, I will last that long.

I remember seeing stats for the State in March and seeing the murder figures for the last year and thinking that Tacoma already surpassed them all. It has some scummy sections, mostly by the tracks, but I've never felt uncomfortable walking around--- ---and you just mentioned Tacoma--- --anyway, I can walk around most of SLC and the Salt Lake Valley and not feel uncomfortable. @@lilliedoubleyou3865The statistics are grim, but I don't think they're as representative as they look. The lack of incorporation of surrounding affluent close suburbs skews the numbers way down, but I wonder how different the numbers would truly be as compared to, say, Charlotte's or Atlanta's with some of the higher tax-bracket zip codes pruned off to get a closer comparison.
