when one person is spawned partially inside of another, the server/game tries to resolve this by pushing them apart. the pushing apart force is proportional to the amount of overlap. With this info, and the video to study. I would say that if the trains are only slightly inside of each other, the separation force isn't greater than the force/bumper holding them together. Which causes the front vehicle to be accelerated and pull the one behind.

Neil in the pot hole section you took away all the fun of actually doing the course. Why would you just drive down a hill? Try to avoid the potholes. It’s more fun that way. And if you hit one awww shucks we get to see a car explode. Either way it’s content for you that more entertaining than watching you drive down a hill.
