Even the mask for the shark is beautiful. Way cool. That’s a dark target.

still a great shot! really sucks about the asiair though. At least you have some clear skies though, between the full moon oct 1 and clouds ever since, its been over a month since I had a chance to get out and its getting colder up here in North Dakota!

Ouch sorry to hear! It has been really good here since Oct1 but sadly as of this week we are getting smoke again from California :(

Very nicely done! You don’t need to autoguide with TPlink and the Myt. I never do even with a heavy RASA 11. Keep up the amazing pics. My APOD was June 6th with the unguided setup I mentioned. Best to you both Dan

Thanks! It just makes more sense for me to guide because I don't want to spend 20minutes or more recalibrating the T-Points every time I go out to the desert. Congrats on the APOD!

Great video as you say show about the rainbow, you might be able to sort out with filters. Processing images can be very hard and frustrating at times But I know you will get there in time. Clear skies

I normally go to my parents farm to take pictures but they are in class 4-3 skys at best. My goal is to get my setup down good so that I can make the 8 hours trip to a true dark sky site. Happy to see that you’re about to share your experience with friends in person and online.

Thank you! Bortle 4-3 is what we usually image from, it's good but for dark nebulae it is indeed not as great!

Don’t forget to buckle up that scope haha. Incredible results. I always love seeing your Astro vlogs. You have plenty of apod worthy shots...I kinda think there’s a lot of luck and timing involved with the targets they choose to feature. Good luck and whether it’s this year or next year I’m sure you’ll land a feature in the future. It’s not like they haven’t noticed you 👀
@GalacticHunter
@GalacticHunter 3 жыл бұрын
Thank you Marko! Yes I also believe the timing has to be just right depending on what they "need". Keeping our fingers crossed for this year still..

Great video Antoine, love the timelapses also.. I was gonna purchased the ASI air and really happy I decided not to buy it and go for the Mgen 3 instead, it does all stand alone, guiding to whole works... no laptop needed.

Great video, and nice image! I think the rainbow artifact looks kinda cool. If you want you can just crop it off, there isn't really any nebulosity at the bottom.

Stunning image. Shame about the ASIAIR Pro, was thinking about getting one of these myself, any chance of doing a long term review with all the pro's and cons and whether you've managed to sort out the recent issues?

You should see if you can replace the raspberry pi inside the ASI Air. Or just use a raspberry pi that's the same model as the Air with the SD card you are using. It's possible something is wrong with the pi.

Excellent results! 👏 Another night would help, but with some judicious cropping, you already have a beautiful image. 🖒🖒BTW, I have been drooling over that camera for a while, and your results are making it even more difficult to resist the temmptation. lol Last, after you're finished with the Shark Nebula, you'll have to go for the Baby Eagle dark nebula in Taurus (LBN 777). 🤔 I think it has a bit more colour in it too. 👍👍

Do not worry about the APOD - it is not something that depends on you, even if you have great images. If you just take a look the APODs you will see that the pics are something unique in most of the cases. Even with a great image they will most probably chose something not so great, but unique. Keep trying and you will win some day, but forget about that promise - you can only promise something that deepens on yourself only. It is stupid to be stressed by your hobby - just enjoy it :) ... as well you are super super lucky to share the same passion with your wife :)

Sad to hear you are having trouble with the ASIAir Pro. I have mine now for several months and love the little red box! My astrophotography has evolved enormously because of it. Perhaps this video contains some ideas on getting the shark to bite: kzbin.info/www/bejne/aZXCi5-ahNxnmLc
