I would have argued that the 2018 Jags were more disappointing than the Steelers. The jags came out of nowhere to go to the afc title game sporting a young offense and one of the most elite defenses in league history. They went 5-11.

The Jags do not have the same track record of success, so their one great year could easily have been seen as an aberration while the Steelers tend to do well, so it was more of a shock that they suddenly were struggling.

I would totally say the Seahawks should be the most disappointing this year. I mean even with Russell Wilson, they haven’t found much success. Also, in 2018 why not the Jaguars? They went to the AFC Championship Game during the 2017 season and than in 2018 disappointed big time. Jacksonville in the offseason brought in Andrew Norwell to upgrade the offensive line, and they traded up to take DJ Chark in the second round.

I would argue the 2007 Saints were incredibly disappointing. After the disastrous 3-13 season of post Katrina in 2005, the Saints went 10-6 during 2006 in their first year with Brees and Payton, making it to the NFC championship game vs those Bears. They then had two .500 or less seasons until 2009 when they won the superbowl.

2021: Miami Dolphins - The Dolphins led by a great defense went 10-6 in 2020 and was expected to be a playoff team in 2021. The Dolphins then proceeded to start the 2021 season 1-7. They have since won 5 straight to get to 6-7, but it might be too little too late. *1/27/22 Edit: Miami went 9-8 (winning 7 of their last 8 games), missed the playoffs, & fired their HC despite Flores leading the team to consecutive winning seasons for the first time since 2003.

The most disappointing teams at this point in time have to be the Browns, Bills and Dolphins in no particular order. The Browns and Bills were expected by many to be world beaters after last season. For many the Bills were an AFC Title favourite and the Browns were at least expected to be a shoe-in for the playoffs. In both cases it looks like issues of regression. The Bills are struggling on the ground. Both lines and the run game are not so hot. For the Browns it's similar to 2019 but they're performing a bit better than that. As for the Dolphins, I don't think anyone expected that losing streak after the season they had prior. At least they're rebounding with a win streak against mostly bad teams.

@@jaiden8073 Normally I would agree but Seattle had been seeing a slow collapse for a while. Despite their solid record last season their defense was bad for most of it, and once it finally started to shape up, the offense fell apart, just in time for the rams to slap them around in the playoffs. Seattle went into this season with a crumbling o-line, inconsistent defense, and a quarterback that doesn't even wanna play with the team any more. I would have been surprised if Seattle had been as successful this season.

2001 Vikings would have been my pick over the Titans. They went from the NFC Championship game in 2000 to 5-11 in 2001

I genuinely think the Browns are the most disappointing team again this year. If you really break down their talent on a position basis, they have a top 5 team in the league. They just couldn’t win games, they have the most one score losses in the league this season. They had so many aspirations and have so much talent, but they just couldn’t win this year and got knocked out before their 2nd to last game.

After it being over in my opinion the biggest disappointment was the ravens because they kept losing at the end which cause them not to go to the playoffs

Definitely the 2010 Cowboys, 2011 Jets, 2016 Cardinals and 2017 Giants deserve an honourable mention. I still can't believe the 2008 Broncos missed the playoffs

Bruh this youtube channel is still a joke im a vikings fan and the 2018 Minnisota Vikings are a way bigger dissapointment then the steelers the 2017 Vikings went 13-3 lost in the NFC championship game then signed Cousins to that mamoth contract putting even more pressure on them to deliver just to miss the playoffs entirely

Just an aside, Norv Turner is an excellent example of a HC who is better at what he truly is, an OC. He had better success as an OC in Dallas but sucked as a HC in Washington and San Diego/LA. Imo, sometimes coaches and coordinators are better off staying put and building on their success than allowing their greed to entice them away to take over positions they either aren't qualified for or won't do well in. Think Top College coaches (Urban Meyer, Chip Kelly, Steve Spurrier, Lou Holtz, John MacKay and even Nick Saban) moving up to the NFL and excellent coaches, OC (Norv Turner) and DC coordinators (Wade Phillips) taking on HC gigs where they end up bombing. For the smart ones, they'll return to what they do best or work in a studio as analysts if they articulate well.

Wow , Green Bay should definitely be on this list. With all the great teams they have had since 2010 Super Bowl win, for them to not even get back to one since is a major disappointment.

How were the 2020 Texans a disappointing team? They traded two first rounders for Laremy Tunsil, traded DeAndre Hopkins for David Johnson and a 2nd round pick, used the 2nd round pick from the Hopkins trade to get Brandon Cook who was regressing and had a massive contract, signed aging Randall Cobb to a three-year deal, and had one of the worst defenses in the league. The same defense that blew a 24-0 lead against the Chiefs. They were going to be terrible the moment the Hack Bill O'Brien traded Hopkins. Why didn't you put a team like the Cardinals, Ravens, or Broncos? They were FAR more disappointing than the Texans. Also the 2021 Steelers, really? Not the Browns, or Seahawks, Colts, hell not even the Dolphins?

1997 KC Chiefs (should’ve stuck with Gannon) 1998 MIN Vikings (is this where their Kicker curse began? The Failcons gifted the Donkeys with another ring either way) If you wanted to go back before 2000 that is Still think 2001 should’ve been the OAK Raiders with the Tuck Rule game

Yep the most disappointing thing the Steelers did in 2021? Go to the playoffs with a QB with no legs, an O-Line that didn't know how to block (or have consistent enough starters, whichever your perspective is on that), and two out of 5 defensive frontmen available for most of the games. Outside of that they disappointed.

I 'd say that the Chargers were more disappointing than the Browns in 2019. The Browns were coming off a losing season, they just got a lot of talent in the offseason and were simply overhyped. The Chargers were an AFC Best 12-4 in 2018 and some including myself thought they could be Super Bowl contenders in 2019, but they underachieved greatly and also had injuries and finished 5-11.
