The key of this video isn't just the dunk it's who they're dunking on. The biggest baddest shot blockers in the league.
@saintsataniko21162 жыл бұрын
Yeah it adds a lot when you know that some of the dunks are guards going over 7-foot centers (or in Shawn Bradley's case, 7'6"), and little details like Jordan's finger wag after a dunk on Dikembe Mutombo was because Mutombo famously wagged his finger in a "no no no" gesture at shooters after he blocked their shot.

12:48 A Technical Foul is very much like a yellow card in soccer/football. 2 techs and you are gone for the game. Each technical gives the other team 1 free throw and the ball back. I think it would be super interesting for you guys to see a compilation of major blocks in the NBA. So many of these dunk videos can make it seem like there is nothing a defensive player can do when someone is going full tilt on a dunk but there are actually plenty of blocks that are actually more impressive to see than the dunk would've been. A tech is like a yellow... The opposing team gets free throws, and the ball.. Two techs is an ejection, so very parallel.
@mattskeens8032 жыл бұрын
A tech gives the opposing team one free throw and possession of the ball. If that player gets another tech in the game, it’s the same but he’s also disqualified. A flagrant 1 is similar but is for a foul that has unessesary contact which is usually anything on the neck or above, but can also be a hard unnecessary foul. The opposing team gets one FT and possession. A flagrant 2 is a foul that is unnecessary and excessive. The opposing team gets two free throws and that player is disqualified. The league can also review flagrants and reduce them to a common foul or just a flagrant one. They can also rescind technical fouls because if a play gets more than 16 techs in the regular session they are suspended for a game and one for each one after. It resets in the playoffs.
@felixmalcherek29192 жыл бұрын
Almost, techs are if the players act like lil shits, flagrants are for unsportsmanlike fouls, and fouls that clearly went mainly for the body instead of the ball.
@Tehui19742 жыл бұрын
The NBA used to be more physical and the rules allowed more contact. One of the biggest reasons why the rules changed in the NBA was due to the 'Malice in the Palace' riot in 2004. The NBA has changed for the better. However, it's become more difficult for defenders due to the rules reducing physical contact.

I still don't get why dunks are disrespectful. Dunks are part of the game, the celebrations and taunting afterwards are the disrespectful part. A "Technical foul" is basically like a yellow card. You get two "Technical fouls" and you get kicked out of the game just like two yellow cards. Taunting being a technical foul is a newer thing or at least the strict enforcement. They used to let lots of things go. The game used to be much more physical. Now they don't tolerate the contact, the "checking" of other people. Now you can't point at people, can't even really stand over a guy and star like you did before.
