That stick steer and tilt/trim trolling motor has to be the slickest mod ive seen yet. A bit bulky in the mount, but SO practical....well done sir!

Nice set of mods... One thing I don't see though is boat tags/numbers displayed on the kayak. It's motorized and therefore required to be registered/tagged if on Texas public waters (Brazos Park East, etc). Remove the motor and no registration/tags required in Texas. Good luck - eventually you will get cited.
@PROAMOUTDOORS2 жыл бұрын
Yeah I just built that bracket system for the trolling motor and shot the video. The next following week I got tags on that kayak. That video is about one year old. Watch some of my newer videos and you’ll see the tags on the kayak. But, thanks for watching

seems like it would be top heavy with all that gear and higher seat, therefore more prone to tipping? how is it regarding that? or do you plan to build stabilizers so when you lean to pick up a fish, it won't roll and dump you? Very neat engineering you did!!
@PROAMOUTDOORS2 жыл бұрын
No not top-heavy at all. In fact it’s a wide standup kayak. I even stand up and fish in it. Also I’ve got a video out sure where I was in a bad storm where I was riding waves sideways and up and down and never lost control and I’ve never flipped in it. It’s a very stable kayak. Thanks for the comments love to hear this

@dkhorse123454 жыл бұрын
Great work young man!!!!! The tilt and turn for the motor is genius. I didn’t want to run the cables for a traditional steering like most other yaks. Plus not having a rear hatch makes it hard to run the wires inside the yak (which is what I was thinking) once added a hatch behind my seat and now I’m gonna secure my milk crate with a couple of nuts ,bolts, and washers. I love your diys that so improve the yukon. Your design is impressive and cheap cheap cheap. 👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾

Love the trolling motor! I was in a bad car wreck and need a trolling motor to kayak now. What kayak do you use. I've been looking at a Pelican Sentinel.
@PROAMOUTDOORS3 жыл бұрын
I have the lifetime angler 116. It’s a cheaper kayak but it’s a tri-hull so I like it. For a good kayak for fishing and stability and you’re looking at a pelican you should go for the catch 100 or the pelican catch 120.
@KenJohnsonUSA3 жыл бұрын
@@PROAMOUTDOORS yeah, the only reason why I was looking at the other model was price. Not only did the wreck damage me personally, it greatly impacted the wallet. That is why I love hack videos. I just saw one where a guy used a power tool battery charger as an additional battery supply.

If you want a really good kayak at a low budget price I would look into the one that I have which is the lifetime Yukon angler 116 www.walmart.com/ip/Lifetime-Yukon-Angler-11ft-6in-Fishing-Kayak-91055/554809173

While definitely impressive, unless you actually built the boat from scratch, it will never be the most DIY ever. Many people have started from raw materials (wood, fiberglass, foam, etc..) and completely diyed their kayaks.
