I do not advise learning while feathering boost. To truly understand stick mouvements Hold boost and hold air roll. Do it in slowmotion if you want. Keep 2 things constant to understand how the 3rd parameter affects it. Than you can play with feathering the boost. The first steps are good cause it's really how I started learning it and playing with it. Try doing breezy flicks it's the same motion

Learning to feather boost while using DAR is 100% needed, remember if you go into a game you don’t have unlimited boost and you need to show of the work you have done in free play, if you go in with no prior knowledge of how to feather boost while using DAR you will be useless in game
@djamiljo939 ай бұрын
@@Hazo18 it certainly is needed so I meant to start learning it my bad. I'm just saying to learn directional air roll, like for beginers, the hard part is learning how the stick inputs impact car movement and adding boost feathering on top of that makes it harder to learn initially in my opinion.
@Hazo189 ай бұрын
Yeah for sure, if you have a balance then it works fine but I’ve never heard of anyone that just sits in free play for months till they get it, people play to go into games and with 0 hours feathering boost they will be exposed in game and probably think all their work isn’t even effective and probably give up

A lot of friends that can air roll told me exactly that : they spent hundred hours in freeplay trying at random until they got it. I want to thank you for this video because I watched a LOT of tutorial videos about air roll and quickly gave up. But giving actual steps to follow are making things quite easier and I could feel the improvement right away. I'm still far from air rolling but I know what and how to train and it feels that it could actually make something happen. So thanks. This one is like all the others that don’t give you any actual understanding of air roll, how it works, when to make inputs, what impact boost has, etc etc etc. You will learn air roll painfully slow if you only used this video. I know cuz means well so no disrespect it’s just falling insanely short of Losfeld theory so it’s just credit where credit is due.

Take what i say here with grain of salt i’m no where near using air roll in game but i can say that everyone is over complicating air roll i’d say treat it like you are not spinning for adjustments to create a little base to help later on. I use air roll left and i use every part of my joystick. SO FOR THE HELP HERE/ i suggest for beginners like me to adjust at neutral position(you see the top of your car) TURN RIGHT put your joystick to RIGHT. TURN LEFT joystick TO LEFT. ACCELERATE RIGHT, JOYSTICK UP RIGHT. ACCELERATE LEFT, UP LEFT. SLOW DOWN RIGHT, BOTTOM RIGHT. SLOW DOWN LEFT, BOTTOM LEFT. Keep in mind that after making an adjustment you need to adjust after to not lose control. Try this and you’ll be able to build a baseline for air roll quickly

However, he doesn't use DAR, so his playstyle is more of a patient/wise type of playstyle. He is very consistent and rarely makes mistakes. Unfortunately directional air roll (DAR) is an EXTREMELY difficult mechanic to learn. This is due to its intricate complexity (check out the LostfeldRL video which is over 2hrs long). While guides like this are helpful, I would still argue that the fastest way to “get it” is to do rings workshop maps repetitively until it clicks in your brain. This will take days or weeks of grinding, but eventually your brain will understand what to do in certain car orientations and will make corrections accordingly. Just fly at the first ring, twiddle the joystick (in all directions) while holding DAR, and explore different joystick positions while letting your brain work out what corrections are necessary. You feel hopeless at first, but trust me, after a few days/weeks it WILL work. The reason why this method is effective is that DAR is a series of quick micro-adjustments which are too complex to understand in practice (look at how rapid Hazo’s joystick corrections are 3:42). The brute force method works because your brain is good at subconsciously solving these types of orientation problems. I can guarantee that nearly all DAR users are not actively thinking which positions their joystick is in, rather using their muscle memory. Hope this helps. Best of luck! PS I don’t want to discredit Hazo’s video because it’s great! However, I feel like some people might benefit faster from the brute force method.

My bottleneck is clear, I must now learn to become mechanical. Seriously though, to put into perspective how bad I am mechanically and how much I rely on game sense, my controller broke and I had to play with keyboard for a week or so and my rank didn’t drop 😂 it took me about 3 games to get my keyboard mechanics up to my controller level

im KBM so for me its harder to control with W A S D instead of just spining an analog, im trying tho. My problem its, i honestly dont understand when and how to use tornado spins, cause theorically they go in every direction on the entire spin, so if u boost constantly, u lose speed and direction (being a straight line the optimal) so idk, i tell myself i "air roll too much" but if i do it properly that shouldn't be a problem. So, im kinda lost rn about diferent spinnings and when to only use DAR without any analog imput

People take “practicing” things way too deep, I’ve shown the exact way I’ve learnt and it’s never stopped me from improving, I stayed consistent and the results came, just cuz it don’t work for you don’t mean it’s useless, if you want me too hold ur hand and tell you where to move ur finger every single millisecond then I can, but again it’s useless information and the best way to learn is to find a basic way of using it and just try and get better and better every time, you sink hours of information into ur brain you become overwhelmed, it’s a short, basic video of what WILL work 100%

Exactly how you explain my video “just go up and do direction air rolls” is exactly how I taught myself, I never had someone telling me exactly what I should do and exactly where I need to go because no matter what you hear they aren’t gonna be moving your fingers for you, you have to make your own mistakes and you have to correct them, there’s no wonder the people that have been trying to learn for months/years and nothing works has just been looking for new pieces of information that’s gonna “change it all” and help them but realistically it’s all just a mentality, again people think it’s some crazy mystery and certain information they have to find it or they can’t learn it but it’s genuinely just doing it which will ALWAYS work best

This video gives a couple great starting moves to get into the basics of DAR. Most people can do this and immediately see some tangible results. Will they know all of details of how it works? No but this is focused on getting you to actually do it. Losfelds video is great, but holy crap is it long and also bloated. Dude spends the first like 25 minutes rambling and talking crap on other creators. It’s like minute 35 that he finally starts to talk about the method. Once he does finally explain the method he goes very in depth. Which is good in its own right, and I think long term is better if you want to really understand every aspect of DAR. Also that intro video is absolutely amazing. I was cracking up. Also keep in mind not everyone learns the same. Some people want the basic tips, and some people want the in depth theory. What do you think is going to get someone results faster? A 10 minute video followed by 2 hours of air roll practice? Or watching a 2 and a half long video with no practice. I’m not saying either is perfect or the best way, they are just videos catered to different types of people. Losfelds video will give you a better understanding of the how and why DAR works. And this video will get you started with DAR faster and building muscle memory sooner. Just because you prefer Losfelds video doesn’t mean this video is pointless. Some people just want to figure it out, and just need a few tips, others need to know how everything works before they even try.
