Mastery Dews last 24h btw...u can start completing your dungeons and contracts on wednesday evening, so once patch hits, u just equip a grey spear from NPC and consume them. Else you will find yourself having to do 10x 2* dungeon + 15x 1* dungeon and 70 contracts on patch day. Plus having to grind 20k OWD tokens, crafting, traiting, theory crafting gear and skill builds. All this while also having to attend conflict world bosses and dynamic events and all that jazz (new content such as battleground, etc) Another valid reason to complete dungeons on wednesday is that u wont be able to pick and choose which dungeon to "RANDOM" matchmake. There's gonna be penalties for rejecting entrance with the new patch. Making token farming impossible to be matched evenly across the 5/6 dungeon.

A nice alternative for us SNS/GS tank mains, pop on the spear for build 2. I finished my grind for my weapons mastery, 2 gear sets, so this is exciting. I didn’t want to start a wand set secondary so this is perfect.

I'm not switching to Spear. I already have Crossbow/Dagger at max and am at Level 2 purple (level 12) across the board with Longbow/Staff. I'll be selling everything related to Spear for the next few weeks while the market for it is hot while I finish out my Longbow/Staff build, then I'll swap to Sword and Shield/Spear. I'm banking Lucent and materials for Tier 2, and I'll work on gems in the meantime. I'm at 11K Lucent so far (I did spend $20 for the small celebration pack because I wanted the Amitoi, but everything else has been made from the Auction House) and would like to be at 20K+ when Tier 2 hits.

@@paulwags662 Yeah, I saved a TON of money gearing up by simply being late to the show. I took my time leveling, so by the time I was looking to upgrade gear prices had crashed. There were still a few big-ticket items I could sell for good gains, but I settled for "good enough" gear as I'm not a hardcore PvPer Thanks to that, I was able to bank Lucent to invest in things that I know will be important in future markets.

Only when you spend your tokens, the buff doesn't apply when you consume dew.

ill do exactly same way. but u can keep ur keys for opening portals at patchday too, for refreshing abyssal contract tokens. and the usual way with selection weapon chest from contract coin merchant and guild merchant to get blue/purple weapons / traits for enchantemend and blessing. and if you have some green contracts left, u can use them too for weapon mastery tears, i almost got 40 of them.

I'm playing it close range, so there isn't much of my Bow going into it except sustain/def/crit passives, and deadly mark and nature's blessing and resetting skills. But the bind passive lets you proc a ton of crit and attack speed instant with aoe bind, and just rip through stuff. Using resistance spear for the extra 20% range since half of shaikals don't matter.

@ I’m staff wand at the moment. Wand is great for farming and in pve. But in PvP you can’t be aggressive enough. Staying alive with heals is nice but if you get pushed you won’t have enough tools to fight back in time. I think staff spears is it for me. High melee and magic damage, good synergy with fire from staff and high endurance.
