There are basic scenarios where we know at least one alleged parent can’t be the parent. For example if two people have blue eyes they can only have blue eyed kids because blue is recessive so you know that’s the only thing on the genetic menu. Or if there’s some inherited disease and both so-called “parents” don’t carry it you know there was cheating going on.
