This game literally solidified the “You’re gonna need something big” as a meme within my highschool gaming buddies when this came out, even all this time later I can still get a reaction by saying that line, as well as “I’m so going to shoot the sh** out of you!”. Yeah, imagine LP2 had so much content that it overshadowed HD2, on release.... The more I played HD2 on Helldiver difficulty, I got reminded out LP2 constantly. You get tons of emote unlock: my fav was Wesker skin + Zombie emote

It's even more badass when you get to the next level with the Nevec guys and you find out that the Waysiders still have the train's gun system up and running and PROVIDING COVER FIRE FOR YOU against the Over G. They never quit. Incredible badassery without a doubt.

that1dude0092 Capcom westernized it because Inafune basically said Japan's games industry is fucked if Japanese companies don't westernize, which Capcom blithely obliged. one has to wonder if Inafune said that partially to fuck over Capcom before they fired him. so needless to say, Lost Planet isn't going to be un-westernized anytime soon.

This was by far my favorite cutscene in lost planet 2, and i especially love how every player in co-op has to do a different thing during the cutscene. P.S. would have been so awesome if you could've kicked the shells in mission 3-3

Think space colonial pirates, originally a corp-gov by the name of NEVEC settled the planet then abandoned it(i don't much about the first game. But in the sequel nevec returns to EDN III just to extract all of its resources(thermal energy) with if extracted incorrectly can trigger the planet to go into a complete ice age( think set off a nuke beside a fire and is sucks all the oxygen out, snuffs the flame.) At the same time the descendents of the orginal colony after 100 or so years broke up into their own factions(they were originally all called snow pirates). So the story of lost planet 2 is essentially a group of independent factions come together to fight off a huge centralized power hell bent on taking all thier resources at the cost of the snow pirates and thier home EDN III.

I can't see how this isn't the most epic thing ever made. You have a huge ass train that is also a tank fighting off huge alien monsters, all while it's crew manually load it with their god damn muscles. Then the train does an air jump just so it can pull a giant trick shot. And to finish the scene, they go full Initial D and crash the huge battleship train through the wall. Now tell me, what could possibly be more epic than that!?

whole point of the agme IS that epoploe freeze to death, you ahev to use a form of plasma geenrated in the bodies of those giant creatures to power suits and devices that peopel wear (since most everyone in the game is wearing a metroid style zero-suit under thier clothes) that uses the palsma to generate eaht to power life support and weapons.

People don't realise just how long big ass cinematics like this take to make, depending on the level of detail and animation they can take months of time, developers spend all their time on this kind of thing and then only spend a little while on the actual gameplay. So to be honest if they want to make this stuff then they'd be better off releasing it as a movie than game, they'd get more people interested then. Even five minutes worth of this takes up a LOT of time.
