Tokinada Tsunayashiro is the main antagonist of BLEACH: Can’t Fear Your Own World. Tokinada is one of the most evil characters to have ever been introduced into the BLEACH lore. I love Tokinada. He goes to show how great and different the villains can be in Bleach. Aizen is the trickster and strategist. Ginjo is the mirror image to Ichigo and twist Ichigo's bonds. Yhwach is the warlord and an overbearing and crushing force. And Tokinada is a moustache twirling villain with no greater desire than to cause suffering. I hope Tokinada shows up and we get CFYOW cause he's such a charismatic villain. I really want to see him fight and see his zanpaktou in action.

One moment that shows that the entire nobility are like Tokinada is when he meets with Yoruichi and Soifon who are under orders to detain him under the pretext of protecting him. He expresses the desire to take over the worlds and tells them that the other noble houses will support him due to them being corrupt and power hungry. Soifon is confused by what he means while Yoruichi grimly acknowledges this but reiterates that there are still good people among the nobility. Soifon's lifelong training and indoctrination undoubtedly has much to do with that 'confusion'.

The nobility has always been this background force that isn’t encountered by Ichigo and the rest yet plays such a MASSIVE role in everything in the story. I really feel if Kubo continues with he Hell Arc then it would be a great time to bring all that to the forefront. Have Ichigo actually learn and understand how fucked up they are. Especially since even over a decade after the Quincy Invasions it seems the Nobility still hold a lot of power.

5:23- Unlike Aizen who seems to be nice then pure evil until retroactively his motives become grayer with each revelation/his true motives only guessed by characters, Kugo who overreacted but it retroactively makes sense since his organization was essentially stacking the cards against him from the start, or Yhwach who was born with such terrifying necessary conditions to survive that he became monstrously apathetic to cope with the horror of his living conditions- wanting to change the world just to stop his suffering- making him at least pitiable; Tokinada was a prick and learning of the truth just gave him the means to parade his evil while being more privileged than everyone.

During my first run on the CFYOW light novel, I was left utterly jaw dropped with the fact that because of Tokinada, this lead to Tosen going on a path of misguided justice and decided to follow Aizen. So let's see if I got this right, cause I read CFYOW, but the unofficial translations. Tokinada was the highest ranking aristocrat in the Tsunayashiro family. He created Hikone, all the while being directly responsible for the death of Tosen's friend. He wanted to make everyone aware of the Soul King's existence in his own twisted way. I forgot to mention this but he set up the former Captain of Squad 13 Jushiro Ukitake in making Kugo Ginjo believe that he sent the assassination order to kill him. But it was Tokinada the whole time. And he knows that he can get away with it due to his diplomatic immunity, while reveling in chaos not only because he knows that what he's doing is evil, but he wants to?

Bare in mind although he can ‘copy’ any zanpaktou whichever one he copies will only be as powerful as his own spiritual pressure (which is that of an average royal/ captain - so when he copies Aizen’s it’s no where near as powerful because Aizen’s spiritual pressure is much stronger

Re. your bit about the nobles after 8 mins: There's actually one thing I liked about the princess arc, even though it's absolutely filler. After finishing the manga and the novels, that arc hits completely different. Also it did an amazing job outlining what it was like to be a noble, as well as the corruption of the noble families. Even the little moment where the other little noble girl was forced into an arranged marriage that was full of other machinations.

I never read the Light Novel of Bleach however after the character breakdown I'm intrigued how Tokinada is and why he chose the path of pure evil. Unlike most villains who grew up in harsh conditions, had their morality compromised by how the world is or rejected and ridiculed by society, Tokinada was born in a high life and got curious how the universe is before the Soul Society was formed and once his learned the truth he became The Joker or Havik(if you play Mortal Kombat) of Bleach. Men who rather want the world go into complete chaos for no reason. I have a major appreciation of villains who are pure evil to the core and impossible to reason with.

He has a good reason, he was friends with ukitake and shunsui during school years so, he was a good dude that always held back his evil nature to be a model shinigami due to loving his friends and family. Shunsui points out that he was suspecting his true nature, to which he mocks him for not killing him and ukitake for always trying to get him back being a good person. Tokinada loves his friends that's why he is so keen on tormenting them that's why he killed his wife, he is mentally unstable the kind of guy that wants to destroy things he loves and he is well aware of something being wrong with him, that's why he goes insane learning that the world is fake and the world supports his twisted nature. He is not wrong the world is evil so he can be evil and live freely, after all that is a model shinigami.

Several years ago, I actually came up with the concept of a Zanpakuto that functionally work the same as Enrakyoten. There are, of course, multiple differences between my concept and this blade. First off, it doesn't slowly kill you as you use it and it has a Shikai and Bankai form. Second, it's Shikai turns the blade into mist and it reconfigures itself into the shape of whatever Shikai it is mimicking. Did you read that correctly, the Shikai it's mimicking. He can only mimic the form and powers of Shikai that meet 3 criteria: 1. He knows the name, 2. he knows it's release command and 3. he knows how it works and what it does. Due to needing to meet all 3 of these, he can't use Zangetsu as a result. Third, his Bankai takes the form of arm armor that has 5 mirrors on it and his fighting style becomes grappling. It's power is to mimic the form and ability of 5 different Bankai's that he can shift between but only those 5. To avoid the overpowering issue, exceptionally powerful Bankai, such as Zanka no Tachi, would result in a mirror breaking and until it is repaired, it does this naturally but very slowly, it will limit his mimicking ability down to 4, 3, 2 or 1 depending on the number of broken mirrors. Additionally, due to his nature of putting his own spin on things, some Bankai have fundamental changed. For example Konjiki Ashisogi Jizo will still appear as a giant baby headed catapillar, but the blades now line it's back, does not emit it's poison as a vapor, it coats the blades instead, and has a different color scheme. Finally, his Bankai has 4 requirements to mimic: 1. He has access to the mimicking target's Shakai, 2. knows the name, 3. how it functions and 4. must understand that it is not as powerful as the original

Tokinada as a villain felt like a symptom of Ryougo Narita's tendency to overdose references in any franchise he writes for, and while it did make sense in some ways and help establish some gravitas around him, it also became a bit too much for me to take seriously. Still, he's an interesting sack of shit with a cool family Zanpakuto and an interesting reason to be a one-dimensional shitbag. EDIT: I'm pretty sure the Tsuniyashiro family pressured Tokinada into marrying Kakyo because she had a nail of the Soul King within her, and the Tsuniyashiro wanted to collect and experiment on such people. Also, while your description of why Tokinada murdered Kakyo is somewhat accurate, he also murdered her because he was so mad that she pitied him for being unable to love, even as he took joy in telling people that her last words were expressing pity towards him.

When Mayuri does his things he's suddenly sees as super evil, but Aizen basically did same sht but on different target but he's never seen as equal to Mayuri in terms of evilness. Since I've never read any of the Bleach LN series I'm quite surprised by how much the stories fit w/ the manga canon. I do actually hope we get them adapted even if they're only OVAs & a series of specials/films since the extended universe has some very interesting scenes that very few people know about. I personally think Tokinada's death would make a great scene since Mayuri's blatant disregard for him would be neat to see alongside Tokinada's final moments where he can just go full ham like Aizen before he was sealed (Aizen's final speech after the Final Getsuga in case it wasn't clear)

Just shikai. But the strength of its abilities is based on his spiritual pressure. For example, if he copy Hanataro's shikai he it will be more powerful

Weirdly enough, i don't dislike Tokinda. He's obviously a monster, but I can understand his reasoning. Chaos because it's not seemingly unjust in the world you are in. But that's only part of the story. I think it's because Tokinada knows it's messed up and needs to change and so he is willing to become the instrument of that change, the catalyst if you will. Or at least he may not care one way or another, but I suspect he does on some level. But obviously he doesn't mind his role.

I think that Aizen would be a more interesting character if he genuinely had been friends with Tosen. However I don't think this is so. Tosen and Aizen were in a one over one relationship whereby Tosen regarded Aizen as his Lord. Now had Aizen been the direct cause of the child at the end finding her way in to Tokinada's home, and Aizen using whatever reach he had to mask her presence till the last possible second in order to kill Tokinada. Then I would believe that Aizen had some actual regard for Tosen as a friend. Personally I would still figure Aizen's real motive for this would still have been a take down of a rival rather the fulfillment of a promise to a friend. Especially when the aforementioned promise could not be acknowledged by that friend or rewarded (as Tosen was already dead) and it didn't immediately serve Aizen in some way. Aizen is simply too narcissistic for true friendship.

Note I don't think Aizen would really consider Tokinada as a rival, I would consider it more of a pride thing. Tokinada wanted to cause chaos and destruction of a world Aizen wanted to rule AND instill his (Tokinada's) puppet as the new Soul King. Which is the job Aizen wants albeit with a more active role than a half dead linchpin torso. The Tosen thing I feel like would barely register as a motive for the killing.

I'd say a more apt comparison for Tokinada would be Yuki Terumi from BlazBlue. In fact I'd say they're so 1:1 to each other I'd be positive one character was inspired by the other. Especially considering both take their time saying and doing whatever it is their black hearts desire to royally piss off everyone around them. Though the only difference is while Tokinada is a literal weakling Terumi is a god that could not be stopped without reality and literal plot manipulating powers that Ragna the Bloodedge managed to obtain by realizing he was the Central Fiction. If you haven't played the BlazBlue games or even heard of the BlazBlue series Zimran I highly recommend doing so by any means necessary. I think you'd enjoy the complex world building that BlazBlue provides. Plus it has very iconic and lovable characters.

True, and for both of them, their nihilistic sadism is rooted in the foundations of their very worlds, given that Terumi was ultimately the Susanoo unity while Tokinada learned the truth of his ancestors' sins. Heck, the situation with the Amaterasu unit and the Soul King are oddly similar.

Tokinada is actually based on the novel authors previous works like durarara. He is the mentally handicap villain that he loves to write, people who can't live normally due to disability to be a good nature individual. These villain are always terrifying and have no limits since that are evil for the sake of it, they are just being themselves since they cannot ever live a normal life without feeling despair.
