The Most Exciting Underwater Striped Bass Footage I've Ever Filmed!

This past Thursday June 4th I had a unique opportunity to film and photograph a school of hundreds of #stripedbass as they hunted sand eels along the bottom in Cape Cod Bay. 🐟 I estimate most of these fish to be in the 22-27 inch range.
Towards the end of the video, you'll get a glimpse of what it looks like when #stripers attack epoxy jigs. Then at the 1:26 mark you'll see a unique shot of sand eels burrowing themselves into the sand to escape an advancing pack of stripers.

I love the striped bass. I love their aggression towards bait and lures. The wiper is even more loved they just hit it like a freight train and fight like champs. So glad they exist. Definitely the best fish

That’s an awesome video but that makes me believe that’s the worst fishing bait in the world to go through that many fish before getting one hooked LOL

LOL! I understand your point for sure! However I was not working the lure correctly, plus I had a camera on the line. If I was fishing to catch fish (and not catch footage) then I would have lifted the metal off the bottom, and allowed it to flutter naturally through the water column. This would of produced a lot more bites than simply dragging the metal through the school (a technique which produces good footage but not many bites).

Yes, that is a good observation! A slower retrieve, and allowing the jig to flutter down through the water column, probably would have been more effective than a straight and fast retrieve.
