Yup, my Oriollo is also MY most expensive kit - 12/15/20 - and I wouldn’t part with it for love or money. Had to have it. If there’s a kit that speaks to you, BUY IT. (It took a year or two of selling off gear I didn’t use, and saving pennies, but I did it!) Life is short, fulfill your dreams. It’s worth mentioning that a true set of Oriollos (as built by Oriollo) is equipped with their own beautiful polished stainless steel lugs (and no janky bits, splay, dents, reamed holes, or stacked washers!) The latest iteration is the Tri-drop, a 3 facet teardrop reminiscent of the gorgeous old Sonor lugs. They also do some amazing finishes, as well as other seamless and cast metals… Browse the website for some droolworthy drumporn, but be warned - you might get hooked!

Def pretty early on in the shell making timeline for Oriollo when these were produced. I had the original prototype in 22,13,16 before selling it to the fine gentleman that commented below and that kit sounded unbelievable. Oriollo sent me a few others over the years...we did a few aluminum, steel, and I had the copper for awhile (heavy af), but ultimately just landed on a matte black aluminum in 13,16, 22, which I still have and use as my main kit. Theres really nothing out there that sound like these drums. Love them

Oriollo bellmaker snares are one of my favorites I’ve ever heard. I think I read somewhere they use b14 bronze rather than b20 and the alloy sounds warmer and fatter than other bell bronze snares

Have you played/heard Oriollo Bakar? Sounds incredible. Btw, you're right, Bellmaker is made of b14 bronze.
@echohawk95792 жыл бұрын
the Noble and Cooley-Zildjian snare was B20 and prone to cracking that's why they came out with the ribbed version. people paid a lot of money for the Paiste-Ocheltree Spirit of 2002 which actually is a B8 bronze (Duluth), DW True Cast (Duluth B8) VK Kast B10. Oriollo tops them being B14.

It's said that aluminum shells produce one of warmest sounds when compared to shells made out of other metals. Bearing edges also effect a fair deal, don't know what these drums have though. Oh, but I also agree that I didn't expect such a warm tone!
