Capt Bradford-San thank you for the tour of this amazing museum! I have always loved the Toyota 2000 GT. Truly a classic sports car! The 2000 GT is also a James Bond car appearing in the spy film “You Only Live Twice”. The unique fact is that in the film Bond drives a convertible version of the 2000 GT - except Toyota never made a convertible for public sale. Toyota did actually built two custom 2000 GTs for the film cutting the roof off due to the low sloping roof line so that Sean Connery could fit inside and be seen on camera driving it. Toyota bought one of the two convertibles back and it’s located in one of their museums in Japan today.

Love love love your channel. If possible please do a full episode in the best ever out of Japan the LFA and LFA NR. Just so much to that story that if could take a full episode and still not cover all the details. Toyota really deserves some serious lime light on this project that still is unknown in the car world blinded by just HP figures and not overall package that shows mastery.

Found your channel a few days ago and loving the videos! Sometimes glare makes it really difficult to see the interior of the cars through the windows, in the instances where you can't open the doors (such as these museum cars). My suggestion would be picking up a polarizer filter for your lens. They aren't very expensive and can vastly reduce the glare for the interior shots through glass. You can rotate the polarizer on the lens while mounted to cut light/glare from different light sources/the sun. Keep up the good work!

An awesome collection and well presented. Just what i expect, and receive from Japan-ese peoples. The 2000 GT i have seen once for life at a Toyota agency. As the owner died they "passed" the whole collection of cars to Toyota Deutschland. You could name this collection as the 2nd Toyota Museum. So many cars.

@BentConrod4 жыл бұрын
Shelby and Toyota screwed Pete Brock, designer of Shelby's Daytona Cobra Coupe, out of a deal Brock had with Toyota to develope a racing program for the 2000 GT in the US. Upon becoming aware of what had transpired Brock declared “I wanted to race against Shelby and blow his ass off.” He then went on to do a deal with Datsun, initially having great success with the Fairlady 2000 roadster and then the P510 sedan and 240Z sportscar. Despite Toyota throwing half a million dollars at Shelby back in the day, the 2000GT never qualified for national competition in the US and Toyota quit racing for the next ten years.

Was "Toyoda" the original english spelling?
@visionenippon-captbradford93444 жыл бұрын
Luke Sinsuan ‘Toyoda’ is the family name spelling and pronunciation of the family that started and owns ‘Toyota’ motor company. They changed it to ‘ta’ because in Japanese ‘トヨダ’ takes 10 strokes. Rizabuto Toyoda preferred ‘トヨタ’ as it leaves out the last 2 notch strokes, making it simpler to write (8 strokes which is a lucky number in Japan / China) and ‘ta’ is non voiced and therefore clearer sounding consonant compared to a harsher sounding ‘da’.

Sadly from 2030 on all combustion cars including classics will be banned from public streets in entire EU, China and Scandinavia :-( In Germany the Green Peoples Party gave order to shorten fuel supply from 2025 on by reducing all conventional fuel stations to only one state operated central gas station per city or county. From 2027 on in the EU certain car spare parts will be banned too....as exhaust systems, turbo chargers and even some engine and gearbox oils...California and New York will do the same from 2027 on.... So no investments should be done in oil burning cars any longer....They even created a new kind of crime here, called emissions and smoke criminality......
