11:38 I love Bonny's transformation! I think it's very thematically on point. Bonny has held dear the idea that "Nika will free us", but she hasn't been able to visualize this, despite her belief. She believed because her father believed. But now she believes because she's seen it first hand. She's heard the drum beat, she's seen the flexible fighting, she's seen him face up against the elders. So she has formed a connection of Nika = this version of Luffy, and now she can picture what it would look like if she were Nika. (I think of it like a child dressing in their parents' clothing lol) I don't think Luffy knew she would "turn into Nika", I think he just got a kick that this was what she saw as "most free" because this is what he sees as his "most free". Luffy doesn't even know he is Nika! He can just fight freely in this form so he loves it. I also don't think Nika-form-Bonney is anywhere near Luffy levels of strength. I am waiting for a team up attack between them because it would be fun! But I think Luffy is going to remain the stronger one. Bonney is mimicking this form for freedom, but her idea of freedom is not the same as Luffy's idea of freedom, so even if she mimics his attacks, I don't think they'll work nearly as well. But she might find her own way to fight within that. I good example that I've seen others bring up is Momo. Momo literally has the same exact fruit as Kaido. Same powers and everything. But no one thinks Momo can do everything Kaido does (poor kid struggled to get those sky clouds moving lol). I think Bonney is the same - just because she has this form, doesn't mean she has all of Luffy's powers, or would even use them the same way~

I feel like the big thing to remember with Bonney is that her power only works if she believes the future is possible. So we dont know how strong she will be at all, but i feel like if Luffy wasnt there carrying her, she wouldnt be able to stay in gear 5. So i read a few comments saying "Bonney can now beat Kaido" on random videos and i dont think thats true. He smashes her one time, she feels the fear of death one time.. and she is back to regular bonney. We still have to see where it goes obviously, but i dont see it as a negative. We know she is one of the worst generation too, so she isnt just some weak random person. Plus even when she was a kid she was trying to turn into Nika. When she punched the CP0 agent that was watching her she was trying to emulate Nika. It feels like something she would have continued to practice in order to impress her dad. So when Luffy believed in her, and she finally saw Nika in action something clicked. Oda added time travel to One Piece and it makes perfect sense, I trust him with where he is guiding the story. And i think Luffy saying "I know you can do it" is based on what hes seen. Bonney became a giant, turned Luffy into an old man, Jinbe into a kid, in Luffys mind she probably can just shapeshift into any person she can think of. Like Bon Clay with a twist lol

I totally agree, the people saying she could fight Kaido now are tripping. Even Luffy had tons of help, and G5 aside Bonney just doesn’t have the Haki mastery Luffy does which is what Kaido even said is the most important thing.

I think Luffy is a dream weaver. He helps others weave their dreams into reality. With Bonney it was her believing that Nika was real and something she could be a part of. He helped Zoro get serious about becoming the greatest swordsman instead of just wandering aimlessly. He inspired Usopp and Sanji to take to the seas after their dreams finally. He freed Nami to travel and start building her maps. Everywhere Luffy goes he inspires dreams and helps them blossom into reality. Just like with Bonney here becoming a part of the icon of freedom that her father had told her stories of during her time locked away inside. With Luffy anything is possible if you can dream it.

I love the Bonney transformation. It makes perfect sense to me for several reasons. Bonney has been through hell and back, and we already saw her use Gear 3 in the past when she didn't understand Nika/freedom, we knew this was gonna happen for a while now. Having the gear 5 transformation doesn't really mean she's suddenly as powerful as Luffy, I don't think her devil fruit can copy Haki mastery, or combat prowess or anything that requires training and experience really, it probably just gives her a rubbery body and a boost in strength. I don't see all the strawhats getting their own Nika form, if they do, I'll hate it with every fibre of my being. Instead, this kinda solidifies Bonney as a strawhat for me, putting her in the role of the "apprentice" of the crew, just like Shanks and Buggy. Shanks is able to use Divine Departure just like Roger, so Bonney using G5 just like Luffy is a wonderful parallel (I really want Bonney to stay with the crew).

Bonney just believes in Nika so much atm, the stronger her belief in him, the easier it is for her to emulate that Though she is a prodigy for sure, at 10 years of age she got gear 3 equivalent of power and defeated a CP8 agent, at 10 years old, she is a supernova. Either her father was really strong, or they were trying to create super soldiers

Either luffy influenced the power of Bonney with his anything is posible if he imagine it is, or simply Bonney just got a better picture of what Nika is and what power that is, and I don't mind either, I hope it helps with the scape and future fights

This is something I've been waiting for since like chapter 1092!! Upon meeting Luffy, Bonney asks about his wanted poster, Luffy uses gear 5 twice in instances where Bonney is conveniently knocked unconscious and away from Luffy so she cant see him and then when Bonney is able to see Luffy fighting he's in gear 4, we get Kumas flashback and her tie with nika, she uses nika-like future once there, then again vs saturn, then she sees luffy go gear 5 for the first time and is finally able to copy Luffy!! I had the biggest smile on my face when I saw it. edit: i also dont see it so much so that bonney copied nika alone but that she copied luffy since she switched back to her normal outfit but with luffys same sash. Luffy almost always takes these big brother positions which he ended up taking with bonney over these two days of egghead i think a big turn for them was when she spent all night crying and luffy asks why she was in such a good mood. I think his genuine faith in her, and her seeing what he has done filled her with enough spirit to be able to do what she did, but her powers are still temporary so i dont think it'll really be anything more than this moment Also the drums have been waking the iron giant up but I think only specifically the times when Luffy has been giant

Hey, I like your videos and have been following your journey through OP for a while that’s why I want to throw this out: if you want to get more views on the chapter reviews you have to release them sooner. If you read officials then Sunday evening, alternatively consider switching to TCB which comes out Thursday (before officials). With the current video releasing on Wednesday, a bunch of people have already read it days ago, consumed a bunch of other videos on it and probably read spoilers for the next chapter.,just my 2 cents :)

and after 25 years Bonney said "me too!" Shonen gonna shonen but god damn it's such a bummer Did she work towards it? has she ever trained anything? Have we seen Bonney do anything ever? Have we seen a bunch of Bonney fights to know if its going to change her style at all? It feels very very end game shonen, there's no more training arcs, vegeta just gets angry at rocks and doesn't care anymore so he's a supersaiyan, Goten and kid trunks can just do it 'because' its a new season, Piccolo needs a new mcguffin to become as strong as the saiyans so he doesn't get left behind, Bonney just thinks therefore she is

Luffy didnt train for this. He died and then it happened and he has no idea what's going on. We see Bonney actively try to perform this twice and fail and upon seeing Luffy she's able to achieve this thing that she's been searching for her whole life.

Luffy never trained for a Gear 5 transformation, it's an effect of his Devil fruit, his resurrection with the will of Nika. - Besides this, Luffy and Bonney are both shown training to get stronger from the age of 6. Bonney spent the 2 year timeskip in the new world fighting pirates and marines, searching for Nika for her father. Luffy spent that time on an isolated island (Amazon Lily) training Haki with Rayleigh. - In total, Luffy's only been sailing a few months, but has 13 years training. Bonney's been sailing 2 years, but has 6 years training. - It is telling that Bonney used Distorted Future for a FREE future, but it looks just like her idol, Nika - the woman on Kuma's bible?
